Unser erster Test der Beta-Version zeigt: Trotz noch fehlender Funktionen eignet sich VLC f\u00fcr Windows 8 als guter Ersatz f\u00fcr den Standard-Mediaplayer.<\/p>\n<p>VLC f\u00fcr Windows 8 ist eine portierte Version des Desktop-Players, gef\u00f6rdert durch eine <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kickstarter.com\/projects\/1061646928\/vlc-for-the-new-windows-8-user-experience-metro\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Crowdfunding-Kampagne auf Kickstarter<\/a>. Langfristig <a href=\"http:\/\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">plant das VideoLAN-Team eine vollst\u00e4ndige Umsetzung<\/a> mit erweiterten Funktionen.<\/p>\n<p>Die Beta-Version ist aber noch sehr beschr\u00e4nkt. VLC f\u00fcr Windows 8 funktioniert<strong> nur mit Intel x86-CPUs<\/strong> und somit <strong>nicht unter Windows RT<\/strong>. Auch Filter, Konverter, Video-Streaming und Optionen f\u00fcr Anzeige und Sound fehlen.<\/p>\n<p>Auf der Habenseite spielt VLC f\u00fcr Windows aber jetzt schon zahlreiche St\u00e4rken aus:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>VLC f\u00fcr Windows 8 unterst\u00fctzt <strong>die gleichen Video- und Audioformate und Codecs wie der VLC Media Player<\/strong> (MKV, Ogg, Mov, FLAC, MPC, MPEG-1,2,3 bis H.256, WMV3 und VC-1)<\/li>\n<li>Unterst\u00fctzung von Wechselmedien und DLNA-Mediaserver<\/li>\n<li>Untertitel<\/li>\n<li>Audiowiedergabe im Hintergrund<\/li>\n<li>Live Kacheln<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Videowiedergabe<\/h3>\n<p>Die Darstellung von Videos funktioniert in VLC f\u00fcr Windows 8<strong> tadellos<\/strong>. Spezielle Bedienfunktionen fehlen hier zwar, doch \u00f6ffnet der Videospieler <strong>auch Formate, an denen andere Video-Apps scheitern<\/strong>. Der Player unterst\u00fctzt viele Formate und auch die Snap-Ansicht sorgt bereits jetzt f\u00fcr etwas Komfort. Als vollwertigen Audiospieler oder gar Mediendatenbank sollte man die App aber nicht verstehen. Doch die bereits vorhandenen Funktionen zeigen, dass die App auch hier in der Zukunft punkten will.<\/p>\n<p>Wichtiger f\u00fcr die n\u00e4chsten Versionen sind aber bislang fehlende Funktionen wie anpassbare Darstellungsmodi, Optionen f\u00fcr Kontrast, Farbe und Helligkeit, ein Equalizer und eine bessere Unterst\u00fctzung f\u00fcr Untertitel.
