Though it\u2019s hard to believe, the latest update <\/span>takes up between 30 and 40 GB<\/b>, which is a significant amount for any hard drive, especially if it\u2019s an SSD. Luckily, Windows has an option to remove all this data.  <\/span><\/p>\n

Click on the start button and go to <\/span>\u201cSettings.\u201d <\/b>From all the options that appear, click on <\/span>\u201cSystem\u201d <\/b>and then <\/span>\u201cStorage.\u201d<\/b> Find the option \u201cStorage sense\u201d and right below<\/span> \u201cFree up space now.\u201d <\/b>Go for it.<\/span><\/p>\n

Windows will take a little time to analyze the partition where it\u2019s installed. Once done, you might be surprised to see that not all the GBs quoted in the title free up. There\u2019s a trick to it. Scroll down and look for the box <\/span>\u201cPrevious Windows installation(s).\u201d <\/b>Surprise: there you\u2019ll see almost 30GB of storage taken up with the option unchecked. So, check it, go back to the top and click the button <\/span>\u201cRemove files.\u201d <\/b>In a matter of seconds, you\u2019ll have gained a large amount of storage capacity.<\/span><\/p>\n
