Hide your posts<\/b><\/h2>\n

Every time you write a post on Facebook, carefully check the box to the bottom right of<\/span> \u201cNews feed.\u201d <\/b>As you can see, here you can set the privacy level of the post you\u2019re writing. You can choose \u201cFriends Only,\u201d \u201cFriends of Friends\u201d or \u201cPublic\u201d for everybody to see. Likewise, you can also change these settings once posted. Just click on the icon that appears by the publication date and change the setting of <\/span>\u201cWho should see this?\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n

Use restricted lists<\/b><\/h2>\n

This feature is a little more hidden, but it\u2019s worth knowing about:<\/span> restricted lists<\/b>. Restricted lists give you the option to move certain contacts into a specific category. This is similar to blocking the user, but they won\u2019t notice a thing (you even stay on their friends list). Just go to the profile you want to restrict, click on \u201cFriends\u201d in their cover photo and then\u00a0<\/span>\u201cAdd to another list.\u201d <\/b>Here several categories will appear, but you\u2019re interested in the last one <\/span>\u201cRestricted.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n

Manage who can contact you<\/b><\/h2>\n

Want only a few people to be able to contact you? In general, Facebook enables public mode by default, so anybody can add you as a friend or send you a message (it\u2019s another thing if you accept or read them, of course). However, it\u2019s possible to change this. Just head to \u201cSettings,\u201d \u201cPrivacy\u201d and change the options under the field <\/span>\u201cHow people find and contact you.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n

Disable others\u2019 posts on your timeline \u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n

In the point above, we showed you how to restrict contacts; now we\u2019re going to do the same for comments on your timeline. Right under the previously mentioned category \u201cPrivacy,\u201d you\u2019ll see one called<\/span> \u201cTimeline and tagging.\u201d <\/b>If you go here, you can change all these settings, including who can post on your wall or photos you\u2019re tagged in.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hide your data<\/b><\/h2>\n

The last trick or tip is to\u00a0<\/span>hide your personal data on Facebook as much as possible. <\/b>People that haven’t added you may still be able to see lots of your private info. To change this, just go to your profile and click on <\/span>\u201cAbout.\u201d<\/b> In each one of the categories, you can change who can see what. Our advice is that you set it to “Friends Only” or “Friends of Friends” maximum. <\/span>Never “Public.”<\/b><\/p>\n
