Where it\u2019s actually useful is in blowing something up so you can transfer it to another surface<\/strong>. For example: let’s say you\u2019ve found an image you\u2019d like to paint \u2014 quickly trace it onto the canvas using your phone as a projector. You can also do the same with a small sketch you\u2019d like to turn into a large piece of work.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Admittedly some of these apps are marginally useful. Chances are we\u2019ll all be okay whether or not we choose to download GIPHY World\u2019s 3D GIF-maker or map-out a 3D diagram of our cycling routes. However, AR still hasn\u2019t quite found its footing.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It goes to show that the technology is more than Pok\u00e9mon GO and Snapchat filters.<\/strong>\u00a0There are some cool apps from the experimental to the actually\u00a0useful. Admittingly, we\u2019re still waiting for the augmented reality app we just can\u2019t live without. In the meantime, there are plenty of apps to capture our interest.<\/p>\n
