The company also announced a <strong>massive library<\/strong> of movies and shows.<\/p>\n<h2>Streaming Wars Episode I: The Phantom Service<\/h2>\n<p>Quite possibly the most shocking part of the reveal was the price. <a href=\"https:\/\/disney-plus.en.softonic.com\/\">Disney+<\/a> will cost <strong>$6.99 per month<\/strong>, nearly half of Netflix&#8217;s $12.99 per month price.<\/p>\n<p>The first signs of the upcoming Disney-Netflix duel came when <strong>Netflix\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.softonic.com\/articles\/daredevil-canceled-what-the-hell-is-going-on-at-netflix\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">canceled several popular Marvel shows<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>in anticipation of the Disney+ launch. For now, Netflix&#8217;s list of original series feels hollow without them.<\/p>\n<p>As the service hasn&#8217;t launched, we cannot definitively say which service is better. Disney has owned the majority share of ESPN since 1996.<\/p>\n<h2>Bon Voyage, Bob Iger<\/h2>\n<p>Also at Investor Day, Disney CEO <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bob_Iger\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bob Iger<\/a> announced that he will be retiring in 2021. Iger became CEO in 2005 following <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Michael_Eisner\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Michael Eisner<\/a>&#8216;s retirement.\u00a0No plans have been released yet as to when Disney will begin searching for its new CEO.<\/p>\n<p>Iger has plenty of faith in the streaming service.<\/p>\n<h2>It&#8217;s gonna be awesome<\/h2>\n<p>Watching all of our favorite animated Disney movies for seven bucks sounds awesome.
