Though the Swedish-based company had promised to launch in the US before the end of 2010, it seems <strong>Americans will still have to wait for a while<\/strong> before they can enjoy the wonders of Spotify.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13570\" title=\"Spotify\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/sft\/articles\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2010\/12\/spotify.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"257\" srcset=\"https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2010\/12\/spotify.jpg 600w, https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2010\/12\/spotify-300x128.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>According to a <a href=\"http:\/\/emoney.allthingsd.com\/20101207\/spotify-ceo-daniel-ek-at-dive-into-mobile\/?mod=ATD_rss\">recent interview with Spotify CEO Daniel EK<\/a>, the problem is that they haven\u2019t been able to reach consensus with US record labels yet. The negotiation is taking longer than expected, and in turn delaying the launch of this awesome music service in the United States, which was scheduled for this year. Now, three weeks before 2010 ends, it\u2019s <strong>highly unlikely that Spotify will reach an agreement with record labels in time to keep their promise<\/strong>. In Ek&#8217;s words, <em>&#8220;we are definitely going to do the U.S., but I can\u2019t commit to a specific date.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On the other side, Spotify is doing great, with 750,000 Premium subscribers and a fast growing rate, thanks mainly to the convenience and accessibility of Spotify Mobile and Spotify\u2019s integration with social networks.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Spotify is one of the most popular music streaming services in Europe these days, but US residents are unfortunately still blocked from using it.
