Weird green milk does a body good.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

New photos from the set of “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker”<\/strong><\/a> show hints that the franchise is moving back in the right direction.<\/p>\n

After last month’s trailer<\/strong><\/a> hinted at the return of\u00a0Emperor Palpatine<\/strong> and unveiled the ominous full title of the final film in the trilogy, fans have clamored for more info.<\/p>\n

Although the trailer was cool, these photos show that the movie will bring us back to J.J. Abrams’s<\/strong> original idea. You know… before Rian Johnson<\/strong> divided the fanbase with\u00a0“Star Wars: The Last Jedi.”<\/a><\/p>\n

The photos:<\/h2>\n
\"Knights
Please just do SOMETHING in this movie<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Probably the most interesting photo from the set was this one of the Knights of Ren.\u00a0<\/strong>The films haven’t explained who they are, and what they’re doing. What we do know is that Kylo Ren<\/strong> is their leader, so these guys are probably also super evil.<\/p>\n

The main issue is that they have done NOTHING in the movies.\u00a0<\/strong>In J.J. Abrams essentially gift-wrapped these cool side-characters for us, and Rian Johnson proceeded to ignore them.<\/p>\n

Hopefully, this photo means that they will be playing a bigger role, and not just a brief appearance.<\/p>\n

\"Lando
Han said Lando would get the ship back “over his dead body.” Well… he wasn’t wrong.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

For fans of the series, this photo is bittersweet in several ways. Although it is cool to see Lando Calrissian<\/strong> back in the Millenium Falcon<\/strong>, he’s only there because Han Solo<\/strong> is dead.<\/p>\n

Although we are glad Lando is back in the picture, we would have loved to see him reunite with Han after all these years. At the very least, we would have wanted to see a reunion<\/strong> with Han, Luke, and Leia,\u00a0<\/strong>but c’est la vie.<\/p>\n

The second sad thing in this photo is that we know that we are not seeing Peter Mayhew<\/strong> behind Chewbacca’s<\/strong> mask. Mayhew died earlier this month<\/a>, and\u00a0Joonas Suotamo<\/strong> has played the role since.<\/p>\n

In a world filled with lightsabers, blasters, and Death Stars, you brought a bow and arrow?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

This photo showed us a bit more of the new character Jannah<\/strong>, played by Naomi Ackie<\/strong>. Given that her outfit resembles Lando’s, many fans have speculated that she might be his daughter.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

When asked about it in an interview with\u00a0Stephen Cobert,\u00a0<\/strong>Ackie said, “Lando is a very charming man, so he could have children all over the universe, that’s all I’m saying.”<\/p>\n

\"Kerri
Are they making a Rocketeer movie?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Inside that cool helmet is none other than Keri Russell<\/strong>, playing her character Zorri Bliss<\/strong> in the “Thieves\u2019 Quarter of the snow-dusted world Kijimi.” <\/strong>Beyond that, we don’t know anything about the character. However, the costume does look cool. We also like those two weapons she has in both her holsters. Hopefully, we will get to see her in some cool action scenes with those.<\/p>\n

\"Star
“Don’t talk to me or my son ever again.”<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Domhnall Gleeson<\/strong> returns to the franchise as General Hux,\u00a0<\/strong>but he’s not alone. Richard E. Grant<\/strong> will be playing\u00a0Allegiant General Pryde<\/strong>, according to an article from Vanity Fair.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

These two characters are NOT related, but they do seem to be working together to take down the Resistance. Maybe we will see General Pryde give a Nazi-esque speech like Hux’s from Force Awakens.<\/p>\n

Rey, you don’t need to find your real family. Chewbacca is the father figure you need.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Rey and Chewie are really becoming tight.<\/p>\n

In this photo, we see Rey<\/strong>, Chewbacca, and BB-8<\/strong>\u00a0racing away in what looks similar to a deconstructed pod racer.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Is there going to be pod racing in this movie? Probably not, but it is might be a cool little callback.<\/p>\n

\"Rey
Good thing Kylo doesn’t have the high ground.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

As we all expected to see, Rey and Kylo Ren are going to duke it out again. The first time these two fought<\/a>, they were in a snowy forest in the midst of a blizzard. This time, their tension appears to have melted the ice around them creating a literal and metaphorical wave of emotions.<\/p>\n

\"C3P0\"
Whatever happened to his red arm?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Here, we get to see C-3PO<\/strong> get some final touches before his close-up.<\/p>\n

\"Rise
Is that guy on the right trying to do the Bernie?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Ya know, we have seen a lot of photos and footage from this desert planet. We can’t help but think this might be Tatooine<\/strong> from the original films, or maybe Jakku<\/strong> from “The Force Awakens.”<\/p>\n

At least the writers can’t screw this part up<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

This photo of John Williams<\/strong> with his orchestra means that there will at least be one good thing in this film: the music.<\/p>\n

His music is just as synonymous with the franchise as the\u00a0Jedi <\/strong>and Darth Vader.\u00a0<\/strong>The projection of Leia in the background of the shot hopefully means that we will get to hear his score “Han Solo and the Princess”<\/strong> harmoniously played once again.<\/p>\n

\"Stars
Are those the Ood from Doctor Who?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Uh, who are these guys?<\/p>\n

Well, it wouldn’t be Star Wars without some weird aliens. Actually, the one in the bottom right almost resembles the Tusken Raiders<\/a> from the first film.\u00a0<\/a>This is further evidence that we might be back on Tatooine.<\/p>\n

These guys are far from the weirdest aliens we’ve seen in the franchise. Remember some of those guys from the famous cantina scene?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The one we’ve been waiting for…<\/h2>\n

\"Luke<\/p>\n

One of the things fans felt was the most egregious in Last Jedi was the handling of Luke Skywalker.<\/p>\n

We were left wondering, “If he just wanted to die, why did he leave a map of how to find him.” Also, giving up is simply not the Jedi way.<\/p>\n

Even\u00a0Mark Hamill<\/strong> didn’t seem like it:<\/p>\n

This photo and the actual title of the film both suggest that Luke’s journey is not yet over.\u00a0<\/strong>Hopefully, we will get to see Luke do some more cool Jedi stuff, and do less alien milking.<\/p>\n

I’ve (still) got a bad feeling about this<\/h2>\n

We’re setting our standards to “low” for this one. The movie looks like it is going to be playing a lot of clean-up from “The Last Jedi.”<\/p>\n
