While <\/span>uninstalling<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>switching off notifications<\/span><\/a> for Microsoft Teams are options you can try to prevent it from annoying you, sometimes merely disabling it can also do the trick. <\/span><\/p>\n

Forcing the app to stop on <\/span>Android<\/span> and <\/span>iPhone<\/span> is relatively straightforward, as it involves going to settings and disabling it there. However, learning <\/span>how to disable Microsoft Teams<\/b> on <\/span>Windows<\/span> and <\/span>Mac<\/span> is a different story altogether.<\/span><\/p>\n

How to disable Microsoft Teams on Windows<\/b><\/h2>\n

Windows provides various ways that you can disable Microsoft Teams. While you can choose any of these methods, it won\u2019t hurt to check all three just in case one of them fails. <\/span><\/p>\n

Step 1: Task Manager<\/b><\/h3>\n

For this method, you\u2019re trying to stop Teams from popping up when you start your computer. Press the Ctrl + Shift + Esc buttons together to access the Task Manager. Open the startup tab on the right, find Microsoft Teams, and disable it.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step 2: Microsoft Team settings<\/b><\/h3>\n

You can also disable the app from within its settings. You\u2019ll find the option by clicking on your profile. Scroll down until you find Auto Start Application, clicking on the check box until it\u2019s clear.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step 3: Check the registry<\/b><\/h3>\n

This step is risky and can cause problems for your computer. We don\u2019t recommend using it unless you understand what you\u2019re doing. First, hold in the Windows and \u2018R\u2019 buttons to open the registry. Insert \u2018regedit\u2019, press \u2018OK\u2019, and find HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Run. In the right window, look for Microsoft Windows and delete it.<\/span><\/p>\n

How to disable Microsoft Teams on Mac<\/b><\/h2>\n

If you own a Mac device, the process is more straightforward.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step 1: Disable auto-start<\/b><\/h3>\n

The first thing you should do is click on your Avatar and head to settings. Select \u2018General\u2019, and then deselect the Auto-start application checkbox.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step 2: System preferences<\/b><\/h3>\n

You can also click on the Apple menu and go to \u2018System Preferences\u2019. You\u2019ll need to access the \u2018User & Groups\u2019 before proceeding to the next step.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step 3: Disable Microsoft Teams<\/b><\/h3>\n

Once you\u2019re in your account, select \u2018Login Item\u2019 at the top. If you spy Microsoft Teams among the apps list, you can remove it.<\/span><\/p>\n
