Hive Social<\/a> has been something of a dark knight since its release in 2019. It’s seen very little download traffic until recently when the increasingly concerning changes to the social media giants’ terms and conditions have driven people to seek alternatives to continue hashtagging their way to fame. <\/span><\/p>\n

Hive’s popularity has stemmed from its hybrid-like nature, taking the image-sharing format of Instagram and the blogging and text-based format of Twitter and combining it into something new. Oh, and Hive has also given a little nod to their ancestors by adding in a feature that allows you to set up a background music on your profile, the same way that MySpace once did at the dawn of time.<\/span><\/p>\n

Becoming the Hive Queen<\/b><\/h2>\n

Luckily, Hive has taken a few pointers from its predecessors, and it’s not too tricky to get started, but we’re here to walk you through it so that you can get started as quickly as possible.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step 1: Create an account<\/b><\/h3>\n

You’ll need to download the app and start it up. From here, you’ll be prompted to create your account.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step 2: Show your interests<\/b><\/h3>\n

Once you’ve created your username and added a killer profile photo, you’ll be prompted to select a few topics and content creators that interest you. Once you’ve done this, you’ll be taken to your profile.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step 3: Explore features<\/b><\/h3>\n

Your Home Feed will only show content from the people that you follow. Still, you can easily use the Browse feature to search for specific people or use the Explore feature to explore currently trending content and hashtags and see Hive’s featured content.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step 4: Share content<\/b><\/h3>\n

Now the only thing left to do is begin to share content and build your profile. One of Hive’s biggest attractions is its versatility; you can share pictures, videos, music, gifs, and text posts. The developers have even spoken about introducing a live streaming feature later on in 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n

Toppling the Giants<\/b><\/h2>\n

While users are experiencing a few bugs and glitches here and there, Hive appears to be a very stable platform with tons of possibilities. Hive offers everything that the titans that are Instagram<\/a> and Twitter<\/a> do, with less advertising and less intrusive terms and conditions.
