There may be times when you need to reset your <\/span>Safari<\/span>. This can be when your safari browser becomes slow and doesn\u2019t work correctly anymore. <\/span><\/p>\n

You need to do four things to reset your <\/span>Safari<\/span> browser<\/span>; clear your history, clear your cookies, clear your caches, and disable your extensions. If you follow our steps below, you\u2019ll find it is pretty simple.<\/span><\/p>\n

Steps to Reset Your Safari<\/b><\/h2>\n

Below we give you the steps to follow <\/span>to reset your Safari on your Mac<\/span>. These steps will work for <\/span>Safari versions<\/span> 11 through 14, but not for Safari on iPhone or iPad.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step 1: Launch Safari<\/b><\/h3>\n

Open your <\/span>Safari<\/span> browser<\/span> on Mac<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step 2: Clear History<\/b><\/h3>\n

Open the <\/span>Safari menu<\/span> by clicking on Safari in the <\/span>menu bar<\/span> found at the top of your screen. Now <\/span>click on the \u2018Clear History<\/span>\u2019 option in the list.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step 3: Select \u2018All History\u2019<\/b><\/h3>\n

In the drop-down list, choose \u2018All History.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n

Step 4: Confirm Your Selection<\/b><\/h3>\n

In the dialogue box, confirm that you want to <\/span>clear all your browsing history<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step 5: Go to the Safari Menu and Select \u2018preferences\u2019<\/b><\/h3>\n

In the <\/span>Safari menu<\/span>, click on \u2018Preferences\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step 6: Remove All Website Data<\/b><\/h3>\n

In the new window that appears, you need to click on \u2018Privacy\u2019 and then click on \u2018Manage Website Data. A dialogue box will open where you need to click on \u2018Remove All\u2019. And accept by clicking on \u2018Remove Now\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step 7: Enable \u2018Develop\u2019 Mode<\/b><\/h3>\n

Now in the preferences section of the <\/span>Safari menu<\/span>, click on the \u2018Advanced tab. In the <\/span>menu<\/span> that appears, enable the checkbox \u2018Show Develop Menu in Menu Bar\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step 8: Empty Cache<\/b><\/h3>\n

From the <\/span>menu bar<\/span>, you should click on \u2018Develop\u2019, and then from the list, choose \u2018Empty <\/span>Caches<\/span>\u2019. Remember to accept the command in the pop-up message.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step 9: Disable Safari Extensions<\/b><\/h3>\n

Go back to the \u2018Preferences\u2019 option in the <\/span>Safari menu<\/span> and click on the \u2018Extensions\u2019 tab.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step 10: Select the Extension to Disable and Uninstall It<\/b><\/h3>\n

In the extensions tab, select the Extension on the left and deselect the checkbox next to it; to disable that Extension, now you can uninstall it.<\/span><\/p>\n
