GTA V has become one of the most played games globally, on both <\/span>PC<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>Android<\/span><\/a>, but has also been overrun with hackers and modders on the online version just waiting to take advantage of poor noobs looking to build their crime empires. Because of this, many people have uninstalled the game within days of starting it up, and even more, have left the game after years of playing. But whether you\u2019re a veteran or a rookie, the uninstallation process isn\u2019t entirely obvious, and it\u2019s easy to miss a step. <\/span><\/p>\n

How to Uninstall GTA V on Steam<\/b><\/h2>\n

With the Social Club and Epic Games versions of the game, you need to go to <\/span>Add\/Remove Programs <\/b>and uninstall the game there; that\u2019s it. The Steam version has a few more steps to it before completely removing the game from your system.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step 1: Manage the settings<\/b><\/h3>\n

Open up your Steam and right-click on the GTA V option in the list on the left-hand side. Then select <\/span>Manage<\/b> and <\/span>Uninstall.<\/b><\/p>\n

Step 2: Uninstall from Steam<\/b><\/h3>\n

You\u2019ll see a pop-up window asking you if you\u2019re sure you want to uninstall the game; select the <\/span>Uninstall <\/b>option.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step 3: Remove folder and files<\/b><\/h3>\n

Now navigate to your GTA V installation location; the default path is C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\Grand Theft Auto V\\. This may be different depending on where you\u2019ve installed Steam or whether you set up a custom location for your Steam Library. Wherever the files are located, though, go to the location and delete any leftover files manually.<\/span><\/p>\n

Whatever your reasons may be, this method will remove the game from your PC entirely but don\u2019t worry; it will remain in your Steam Library.
