To use conditional formatting you highlight the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">cells<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that you want to apply the formatting to, and then choose conditional formatting from the options in the ribbon. A window will open where you can set your criteria for the formatting.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><li><div class=\"howto_item\"><h2>Paste Special<\/h2><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2021\/05\/Microsoft-Excel-Tips-step-2.jpg\" alt=\"Microsoft Excel Tips\" width=\"464\" height=\"349\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Copy and pasting are used often in <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Excel<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> spreadsheets, but there are many different ways you can paste data. You can choose to just paste the text, the text and formulas, or even include the formatting. To choose the special formatting that you require, right-click on the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">cell<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> where you will be pasting the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">data<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Now, click on \u2018Special Paste\u2019 and there will be many options to choose from.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><li><div class=\"howto_item\"><h2>Adding Multiple Rows<\/h2><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2021\/05\/Microsoft-Excel-Tips-step-3.jpg\" alt=\"Microsoft Excel Tips\" width=\"512\" height=\"288\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sometimes you will get to a point where you need to add more <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">rows<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to your spreadsheet. This is easy enough to do. Highlight an empty <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">row<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at the bottom of the sheet where you want to add more, right-click and choose \u2018Add <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Row<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019. If you want to add multiple <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">rows<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, highlight a few rows and repeat the process. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><li><div class=\"howto_item\"><h2>Absolute References<\/h2><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2021\/05\/Microsoft-Excel-Tips-step-4.jpg\" alt=\"Microsoft Excel Tips\" width=\"748\" height=\"425\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is an indispensable tool when using <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Excel<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Sometimes when you copy a formula it adjusts the formula to the next <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">row<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">column<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, but you may not always want that. You may want a value in your formula to always refer to a certain <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">cell<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or value. To do this you have to place a $ before the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">row<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> reference and again before the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">column<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> reference, for example, $A$10.
