More and more social media channels are adding features that allow you to take a glimpse back over the year that\u2019s just passed. This is a great way to relive some of your best memories and achievements of the year. Instagram<\/a> is one of the newest social media platforms to introduce their 2021 Playback feature<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this article, we’ll show you how to do a 2021 recap on Instagram<\/strong>, even if you missed the feature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is Instagram\u2019s Playback feature?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This new feature on Instagram lets users create a quick 2021 recap<\/strong> where Instagram automatically selects up to ten Stories<\/strong> you posted throughout the year. These Stories are then compiled into a memory reel. The memory reel <\/strong>also features a special 2021 frame and stickers that make it easily identifiable as a 2021 recap. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As if this wasn\u2019t enough, the video reel also features the iconic trending remix<\/strong> of \u2018Locked out of Heaven\u2019 by Bruno Mars and \u2018Easy on Me\u2019 by Adele, making this feature easy to recognize in feeds of others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The step-by-step approach to create your 2021 recap on Instagram<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you want in on this trend and look over your last year, this is how to do it on Instagram.<\/p>\n\n\n

  1. Tap on the \u2018View Playback\u2019 button<\/h2>\"How

    If you\u2019re lucky, you may still have the \u2018View 2021 <\/span>Playback<\/span>\u2019 banner at the top of your <\/span>Instagram<\/span> page. If the banner is still there, you can click on the \u2018View <\/strong><\/span>Playback<\/strong>\u2019 button<\/strong> in this banner. You may have noticed this banner appearing early in December when this feature became available. However, the banner is no longer available for the most part, which means you\u2019ll have to continue to step two to enable the feature.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/li>

  2. Tap on the 2021 sticker in another user’s Playback Reel<\/h2>\"How

    If you no longer see the banner, your next option to see your 2021 <\/span>Playback<\/span> reel is by tapping on the 2021 sticker in another user\u2019s <\/strong><\/span>recap<\/strong> reel<\/strong>. This may require some searching because although the <\/span>recap<\/span> is a popular trend, it may be challenging to find someone who still has the recap in their Story.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Unfortunately, if you can\u2019t find someone with a <\/span>recap<\/span> where you can tap on the 2021 sticker, you\u2019ve missed your chance to use <\/span>Instagram<\/span>\u2019s built-in recap feature. However, you can still make your own<\/strong> by using <\/span>video<\/span> editing software such as KineMaster<\/strong> or InShot<\/strong> and manually adding videos and an audio backtrack.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/li>
