God of War<\/strong><\/a> went on sale for PC on January 14th, and since then, this traditionally Playstation exclusive sensation has reportedly hit a major milestone<\/strong>. The past two weeks have seen GOW become Sony\u2019s biggest Steam launch, beating Horizon Zero Dawn hands-down. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s worthy to note that merely a day after the launch, 75000 people were playing God of War on Steam at the same time. God of War is also, at present, the best-selling game on Steam<\/strong> with indications that the game has even surpassed 1 million copies on PC. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

SteamSpy bases its estimates on how many people own the game and have a public profile. Players who own the game but have private profiles are not counted toward the estimate. Another factor is that God of War is available on other digital PC gaming services like the Microsoft Store, Epic Games, and Humble Bundle. This means that the actual number of sales is likely much higher than 1 million<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Honestly, these numbers don\u2019t come as much of a surprise as the PC version of God of War is as good as it gets. PC has an incredible track record of bringing out the best in console games. God of War is no exception. Paramount visual and control setups further enhance the intricately woven storyline<\/strong>, complete with skill trees, tiered loot, and god battles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keep in mind that this latest release is basically a monumentally skillful reboot of a 2000s relic, proving that it\u2019s possible for games like this to age brilliantly and still be relevant and impactful so many years later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This latest feather in Sony\u2019s cap is proof of the company\u2019s investment in bringing forth earth-shattering story-driven RPGs in such a competitive market. It seems clear that God of War and PC are a match forged in the scorching depths of the Methana volcano, and the game is poised to deliver even more successes as time goes on.
