You can watch videos and movies<\/strong> from different sources using the VLC Media Player,<\/a> which is available on different platforms, including Microsoft Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, and Linux. If you\u2019re watching overseas movies or foreign language films, you\u2019ll probably want to download subtitles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They\u2019ll help you better understand what\u2019s happening in the movie or TV series. Here\u2019s how you can add subtitles to a movie or video on VLC Media Player<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n

  1. Method 1: Add subtitles to your movies or videos manually<\/h2>\"add

    Adding appropriate subtitles to your movies or videos can enhance your experience of watching them and sometimes also make them easier to understand. There are different ways to add subtitles in the VLC Media Player and to get them to play along with your video or movie.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Step 1<\/b><\/h3>\n

    Open the file for the <\/span>video<\/b> or <\/span>movie<\/b> you want to watch in <\/span>VLC<\/b>. Select <\/span>Subtitle<\/b> from the top menu.     If you can\u2019t download subtitles, try resetting your settings to default.     Step 1<\/b><\/h3>\n

    Go to https:\/\/addons.videolan.org\/p\/1154045\/. Then click on <\/span>Files. <\/b>After that,<\/span> right-click <\/span>vlsub.lua.<\/b> Then choose the<\/span> Save link <\/b>to download VLSub into whatever system you are using.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Step 2<\/b><\/h3>\n

    Go to your <\/span>Downloads<\/b> folder and find the <\/span>vlsub.lua<\/b> file. Move it into the <\/span>Extensions<\/b> folder in the VLC root directory.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Step 3<\/b><\/h3>\n

    In the\u00a0 <\/span>VLC media player<\/b>, click <\/span>Media > Open file<\/b> to import a movie or video that you want to watch. Or you can just drag the movie or video file to the VLC Media Player. You can also press the shortcut key <\/span>Ctrl + O<\/b>. then click <\/span>VLsub<\/b> under <\/span>View.<\/b> VLC will open a dialog box. In the dialog box, choose the subtitle language that you want. Input the movie title\/series episode\/ season you want to watch in the dialog box. Then click <\/span>Search <\/b>to fetch appropriate subtitles from <\/span>OpenSubtitles.org<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n
