The release of Windows 11<\/a> caused great excitement worldwide, although it needs many special requirements to run on your PC. These include 64 GB of storage, as much as 4 GB of RAM, and at least a two-core processor. It also only works on a 64-bit system, so if you have a 32-bit system on your PC, you won\u2019t be able to switch it to run on Windows 11<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But if you do have the system requirements, it\u2019s a welcome upgrade because it comes with many built-in features like Microsoft Teams and Widgets in a taskbar that allow you to add shortcuts. But what if you want to remove the preinstalled apps from Windows 11<\/strong>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Built-in programs and apps you might not want<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

You might have advertising software installed on a PC or laptop you bought already set up. There will also be programs, Windows Store apps, System apps<\/strong>, and Windows updates<\/strong> you might not want or need on your device. You can uninstall most unwanted apps with just a click, but others could be more complicated to remove from your system. There are different methods you can use to do so. Here are a few of them with step-by-step guides on how you can make them work.<\/p>\n\n\n

  1. Method 1: Uninstall from Settings<\/h2>\"This SOFTWARE > MICROSOFT > WINDOWS > CURRENT VERSION, to delete the applications you don\u2019t want. Right-click the app you want to get rid of and click Delete from the pop-up menu. You\u2019ll be asked to confirm whether you want to permanently delete what you have chosen.     Open <\/span>Windows Settings<\/b> and click on <\/span>apps<\/b>. Scroll to the apps list, find or search the app you want to delete. Double-click on it, and you\u2019ll see an <\/span>Uninstall<\/b> option. Click on it and again on the confirmation prompt. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/li>

  2. Method 2: Uninstall from the Start Menu<\/h2>\"This SOFTWARE > MICROSOFT > WINDOWS > CURRENT VERSION, to delete the applications you don\u2019t want.     Click the Windows icon to open the <\/span>Start menu<\/b>, where all the apps on the PC are listed. Find the app you want to uninstall, right-click on it and choose the <\/span>Uninstall <\/b>option. If the app is from the <\/span>Microsoft Store, <\/b>you\u2019ll see a window telling you the app and its related information will be removed. Click <\/span>Uninstall<\/b> again.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/li>

    In the <\/span>Control Pane<\/b>l, select <\/span>Programs and Features<\/b>. In Programs and Features, you\u2019ll see all the installed apps on your computer. Right-click on the one you don\u2019t want and click <\/span>Uninstall. <\/b>A window will pop up asking if you want to make changes to your device. Click <\/span>Yes <\/b>in reply, and it will uninstall.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/li>

    The methods mentioned earlier may not be effective for all preinstalled applications. That\u2019s where <\/span>Windows PowerShel<\/b>l comes in.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Click <\/span>Search<\/b> in the taskbar (or hold the<\/span> Windows key+X and choose Search from the pop-up menu). Type Windows PowerShell in the search bar. You\u2019ll have to run PowerShell as an <\/span>Admin<\/b> to remove built-in apps. Click <\/span>Run as Administrator<\/b> to do so.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Copy the command from the list below that\u2019s appropriate for the built-in app you want to uninstall and paste it on the PowerShell page and press Enter.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    – Alarms and Clocks \u2013 Get-AppxPackage *windowsalarms* | Remove-AppxPackage\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    – Calendar \u2013 Get-AppxPackage *windowscommunicationsapps* | Remove-AppxPackage<\/span><\/p>\n

    – Calculator \u2013 Get-AppxPackage *windowscalculator* | Remove-AppxPackage\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    – Camera \u2013 Get-AppxPackage *windowscamera* | Remove-AppxPackage\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    – 3D Builder \u2013 Get-AppxPackage *3dbuilder* | Remove-AppxPackage<\/span><\/p>\n

    – Get Started \u2013 Get-AppxPackage *getstarted* | Remove-AppxPackage\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    – Get Help \u2013 Get-AppxPackage *gethelp* | Remove-AppxPackage\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    – Photos \u2013 Get-AppxPackage *photos* | Remove-AppxPackage\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    This method can work with apps or programs that stubbornly resist being removed! But remember, you should only use the <\/span>Registry Editor<\/b> when nothing else works. Opening it and making changes can possibly cause damage to your system.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Hold down the <\/span>Windows<\/b> and<\/span> R <\/b>key to open the <\/span>Run<\/b> application. In the Run box, under <\/span>Open<\/b>, type <\/span>Regedit<\/b>. This will get you into the <\/span>Registry Editor<\/b>. Press Yes in the prompt that you see next. The Registry Editor page will open. Take the following course: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > MICROSOFT > WINDOWS > CURRENT VERSION, to delete the applications you don\u2019t want<\/span>.<\/b><\/p>\n

    Right-click the app you want to get rid of and click <\/span>Delete<\/b> from the pop-up menu. You\u2019ll be asked to confirm whether you want to permanently delete what you have chosen. Click <\/span>Yes<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><\/ol><\/div>
