Minecraft<\/a> is a sandbox crafting game<\/strong> originally developed and published by Mojang Studios on November 18, 2011, for PC. Since then, there have been various upgrades and versions across console, desktop, and mobile devices. 2021 saw massive changes appear with new mobs and biomes with the Minecraft Caves and Cliffs updates<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While you\u2019ll have to pay for it on most platforms, you can play Minecraft for free<\/strong> on Xbox Games Pass<\/a>. It\u2019s an excellent game for adults and children alike, and it\u2019s spawned several spin-off titles and apps for entertainment and education. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minecraft story<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

You may not realize it at first, but there is<\/em> actually a slight plot behind Minecraft. It\u2019s mostly in the sense that there\u2019s a beginning and an end, and how you live between those times is your own story. Here are some more details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The survival tale of a Crafter<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

After you create a new world in Minecraft, you\u2019ll wake up on land<\/strong> or an island. There\u2019s no note to tell you what\u2019s happening or why you\u2019re there. All there is do, as a beginner, is to walk around and investigate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the day progresses and you perform actions, your hunger will increase<\/strong>. You\u2019ll need to hunt for food and cook<\/strong> so that your health doesn\u2019t start to drop. However, this aspect is nothing compared to what\u2019s coming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When night arrives, these creatures called mobs appear<\/strong>. Depending on the game difficulty, they\u2019ll attack and feed off you. You\u2019ll need to find a place to hide or defend yourself if you want to survive. It\u2019s at this point that you realize that you should have built a home or shelter.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you want to survive the Overworld<\/em> as it\u2019s called, you\u2019ll need to craft<\/strong>. We\u2019ll show you exactly what that entails later in our review.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dark world of the Nether<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

At some point in your journey in the Overworld, you\u2019ll come across lava<\/strong> in the depths of the world. When you mix water <\/strong>with it, the block transforms into Obsidian<\/strong>. It\u2019s a valuable resource that you can use to create a Nether Portal<\/strong>, taking you to a new world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019ll notice that there are new blocks, items, and mobs in this environment. You can build a shelter here too, which is essential if you want to farm<\/strong> resources unavailable<\/strong> in the Overworld. The Netherworld is almost the equivalent of what Otherworld is to the foggy streets of Silent Hill 4: The Room<\/a>. providing a location that\u2019s more dangerous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reaching The End<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

One mob that most players fear in Minecraft is Enderman<\/strong>. It\u2019s a completely black creature with purple eyes<\/strong>. It won\u2019t attack you unless you look dead in its eyes. It teleports where it likes, and most gamers die upon first contact with this being. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you do manage to kill it, it drops one of its eyes. You can use these to make a portal to a world called The End<\/strong>. It\u2019s home to the Endermen<\/strong>, and there\u2019s a massive Ender Dragon you\u2019ll need to fight. If you win, you\u2019ll reach the official end of the game. However, you\u2019ll return to the Overworld to continue building if you wish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How long to play Minecraft<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

How long you play<\/strong> Minecraft is up to you. If you only want to build and get enough resources to get to The End, the average time is about 100 hours<\/strong>. Many have been playing it for several years. For instance, I\u2019ve been playing it on PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Nintendo Switch, Android, and now PC for this review. There\u2019s no end to the joy it brings to a master craftsman who loves base-building games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
