Microsoft Excel<\/strong><\/a> is one of the top spreadsheet programs<\/strong> that\u2019s been around since 1985 when it was developed for Apple devices. We used to see different versions listed by year, and they were usually launched to meet a new operating system\u2019s requirements. All of that has changed with Microsoft 365<\/strong><\/a>, where you can instead download and install the primary app<\/strong> for Windows 11<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What was once used for simple data manipulation<\/strong> has advanced to macros and complicated formulas. There are so many advanced features in Microsoft Excel, that it\u2019s easy to become lost. Therefore, I\u2019ll supply some handy tips in this detailed review.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Getting started with Microsoft Excel<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s better to begin this Microsoft Excel review with the basics <\/strong>as easier to show what\u2019s available without getting into the technical details. Here\u2019s what you can expect when you open your first spreadsheet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Creating new spreadsheets<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Starting your first spreadsheet is as easy as clicking on File<\/em> and New<\/em>. Microsoft Excel will ask you if you want a blank sheet<\/strong> or one of the included templates<\/strong>. Reports really stand out when you show data in graphical form<\/strong>. Microsoft Excel has several ways you can present it, such as tables<\/strong>, bars<\/strong>, pie charts<\/strong>, and so much more. You\u2019ll find them in the Insert<\/em> menu<\/em> under the Charts ribbon<\/em>. The best part is that you can switch between docs, sheets, and presentations you have saved in the Office family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you head to your Microsoft account on your browser, you\u2019ll have a list of applications on the left. You\u2019ll notice the green one<\/strong> that represents Excel. It can be devastating if you\u2019re working with financial or confidential information that can get your company into trouble.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Converting to other formats<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Finally, let\u2019s discuss changing formats<\/strong> and transferring Microsoft Excel files<\/strong>. If you need to send a report in a protected format, you can easily save it as a PDF directly from the program. There\u2019s also a way you can convert Microsoft Excel sheets to Google Sheets<\/a> if you prefer that medium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
