Respawn Entertainment has confirmed that Season 13 of Apex Legends<\/a> is due to land later this year. Ahead of its highly-anticipated release, Respawn Entertainment teased the next season<\/strong> during Season 12 gameplay. Alongside the in-game teaser, they also teased a new character who will be making an appearance in Season 13<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of yet, we don\u2019t know who the new character is. The teaser is merely a silhouette of what looks like a heavily armored Legend. The silhouette was accompanied by text on an in-game billboard<\/strong> reading, \u2018The wait is over. He\u2019s here!\u2019 So at the very least, we know that the new character is male. This loosely corresponds with the recent leak of a male character called Newcastle<\/strong>, leading many Apex Legends loyalists to believe that he is the new addition to Season 13. Not everyone is convinced, though. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The other prevailing fan theory is that the silhouette is that of Forge<\/strong>. Unfortunately, this doesn\u2019t track well with Apex Legends\u2019 lore, as Forge is currently dead within the game\u2019s universe. With a name like Respawn worked right into the game developer\u2019s name, though, there might be a reason to believe they\u2019d bring Forge back from the dead<\/strong> for the new season. However, Forge, in his primary form, was usually more asymmetrical, and the silhouette teases a perfectly symmetrical character who looks to be wearing some kind of heavy headgear. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the new character looking less and less like Forge, you might be wondering then who Newcastle might be. Newcastle is a new Defensive Legend<\/strong> whose leak was the fruit of a data mining excursion. He leaked with unconfirmed changes to the Storm Point map and eight other characters. We don\u2019t know much about him, and anything we do know are purely leaks. He seems to have a similar background to Bangalore<\/strong>, as his gear is adorned with the IMC logo. Data miners also leaked his abilities, which, if the leaks are to be believed, all to do with cover and defensive play. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s pertinent to remember, however, that this is all leaks and speculation. We know a new character is coming, and we know that he looks to be a rather heavily-armored Legend. Only Season 13 will reveal who he actually is unless we get an official release ahead of time from Respawn Entertainment.
