WhatsApp<\/a> is currently working on improving its advanced privacy settings by adding a \u201cMy Contacts Except\u2026\u201d<\/strong> feature for your profile status. This will allow you to exclude specific contacts<\/strong> so they can\u2019t see your info. The feature will be rolled out to selected beta testers on WhatsApp Beta for iOS<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the popular instant messaging app has recently revealed that it\u2019s working on making WhatsApp profiles much easier to share<\/a>, it definitely adds comfort to have the option to hide your current status<\/strong> to some of your contacts. Fortunately, the beta version has been slowly developing this feature over the past few months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u201cMy Contacts Except\u2026\u201d functions as a blocklist of sorts<\/strong> for the app, letting users add selected contacts of theirs so that certain activities from their profile status won\u2019t be seen by those people. This is only for the user\u2019s account visibility, which includes elements like their \u201cLast Seen\u201d<\/strong> activity, their profile photo<\/strong>, and their \u201cAbout\u201d<\/strong> page.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To access this feature, go to your Settings<\/strong>, then Accoun<\/strong>t, and then Privacy<\/strong>. Choose either \u201cLast Seen,\u201d \u201cProfile Photo,\u201d and \u201cAbout,\u201d and a new page will open up containing the options \u201cEveryone,\u201d \u201cMy Contacts,\u201d \u201cMy Contacts Except\u2026,\u201d and \u201cNobody.\u201d Tapping the aforementioned feature will then allow you to choose contacts that you want to exclude from viewing your information.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Take note that this status-hiding is mostly a one-way street. You can still view<\/strong> your excluded contacts\u2019 Profile Photo and About. However, you can\u2019t see their \u201cLast Seen\u201d time since you\u2019re not sharing yours. Nevertheless, it\u2019s a pretty handy feature to have so you don\u2019t just set everything to \u201cNobody\u201d when you want to hide your profile. Another cool privacy feature WhatsApp improved is photos from WhatsApp disappearing chats are no longer being auto-saved<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
