Currently, the feature to <strong>disable video autoplay in Microsoft Edge<\/strong> is still experimental. Therefore, it takes some effort to find. But stick with us because below, we\u2019ll show you exactly how to make automatic video playback a thing of the past. Type in edge:\/\/flags and hit Enter. This will open up a more <strong>simple-looking interface<\/strong> with a Warning: Experimental features ahead! label in a dark red font. Very welcoming. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Essentially all the options listed here are experimental and might make your Microsoft Edge experience a little more difficult. But there\u2019s only one option we\u2019re interested in right now. So no harm will come to your browser.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><li><div class=\"howto_item\"><h2>Enable block option<\/h2><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2022\/05\/How-to-disable-video-autoplay-in-Microsoft-Edge-3.jpg\" alt=\"How to disable video autoplay in Microsoft Edge\" width=\"512\" height=\"281\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You\u2019ll see two lists; <strong>Available and unavailable<\/strong>. Underneath Available, you need to scroll down the list and find the option that says Show block option in autoplay settings. As far as I can see, the list isn\u2019t in any logical alphabetical order, so you\u2019ll just have to scroll until you find it. It\u2019s around the middle of the page. Next, hit the drop-down menu where it says Default, and select Enabled.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><li><div class=\"howto_item\"><h2>Restart Edge<\/h2><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2022\/05\/How-to-disable-video-autoplay-in-Microsoft-Edge-4.jpg\" alt=\"How to disable video autoplay in Microsoft Edge\" width=\"512\" height=\"258\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As with any major change to <strong>how a system functions<\/strong>, you\u2019ll need to restart your Edge browser to enable the option. You don\u2019t need to restart your entire system. To do this, <strong>click on the kebab menu<\/strong> and scroll down to Settings. Then simply copy and paste the URL of each website you want to allow to autoplay videos, and click Save. Taking up the yoke of Microsoft\u2019s resident browser from the pitiful meme that is the Internet Explorer wasn\u2019t easy in the least. But options like being able to finally stop videos from playing automatically are a testament to how advanced this young browser has become. Another point for Microsoft Edge is how easy the various Settings spaces are to navigate. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All of the options, apart from the experimental features, are laid out in a logical order, and you don\u2019t find yourself facing any measurable confusion trying to get to where you need to be.
