How to add effects in a Google Slides presentation<\/h2>\n\n\n

  1. Adding Transitions<\/h2>\"How

    The first effect that you can add is slide transitions<\/strong>. A transition is how the current slide moves into the next one. Google slides have a few different transitions that you can use. These transitions are:<\/span><\/p>\n

    • Dissolve<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Fade<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Slide from right<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Slide from left<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Flip\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Cube\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Gallery<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Depending on the style of the presentation<\/strong>, you can choose the transition style that best suits the content. You can also set transitions for each individual slide or all the slides, depending on the look you\u2019re going for.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

      Step 1: Create or Import your presentation<\/b><\/h3>\n

      First, open or create the content<\/strong> of your presentation in Google Slides. Effects are always added last after the content has been added to the slides.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Step 2: Select the slide<\/b><\/h3>\n

      Select the slide that you want to add a transition<\/strong> to. Click on \u2018Transitions\u2019 in the top toolbar with the slide open. The \u2018Motion\u2019 pane will appear to the right of your screen. Here you can see the current transitions and animations set for the slide.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Step 3: Choose the transition<\/b><\/h3>\n

      Click on the drop-down<\/strong> list below transitions and select the transition you want to use. Once selected, you can click on the \u2018Apply to All Slides\u2019 button if you want to use this transition for all your slides. By not clicking on this button, the transition will only be added to the current slide.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/li>

      Animations are another great way to add interest<\/strong> to a presentation. Animations are how specific objects move into the slide – these objects can be images, graphs and videos. Let\u2019s take a look at how to add animations in Google Slides. Some of the available animations include:<\/span><\/p>\n

      • Fly in (different directions)<\/span><\/li>\n

        Step 1: Select an object to animate<\/b><\/h3>\n

        Click on the object you want to animate<\/strong> and right-click to open the drop-down list. In the drop-down list, click on \u2018Animate\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n

        Step 2: Check the current animation<\/b><\/h3>\n

        Once again, the \u2018Motion\u2019 panel will open to the right side of your screen. The bottom section, below \u2018Transitions\u2019, is where you\u2019ll find the object animations<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

        Step 3: Choose the animation type<\/b><\/h3>\n

        Click on the drop-down menu underneath \u2018 Object Animations\u2019 and choose the desired animation<\/strong> for the selected text or image.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/li>

        Music and video<\/strong> can also be great additions to a presentation when used appropriately.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

        Step 1: Select the slide where you want to add the audio or video element<\/b><\/h3>\n

        Step 2: Click on \u2018Insert\u2019<\/b><\/h3>\n

        Click on \u2018Insert\u2019 in the top toolbar<\/strong> and select either video or audio.<\/span><\/p>\n

        Step 3: Add your audio or video<\/b><\/h3>\n

        A window will open where you can choose which video or audio<\/strong> to add. If adding a video, you\u2019ll also have the option to search YouTube for the relevant video.<\/span><\/p>\n

        Step 4: Adjust settings<\/b><\/h3>\n

        Once selected, the video or audio will be placed on the slide<\/strong>. The audio will show with a speaker icon, whereas the video will be added as a resizable image that you can move around or adjust. You can change any settings on the right, such as what parts of the video or audio to play and when to start playing them.
