We have Ivan Hidalgo to thank for this incredible extension for Google Docs within Chrome. I use dark mode for Google Docs<\/strong> on my phone all the time. Unfortunately, Chrome for PC doesn\u2019t have a native dark mode feature, and neither does Google Docs. <\/p>\n\n\n

Luckily, you can now learn how to use the Google Docs Dark Mode extension<\/strong>!<\/p>\n\n\n

  1. Get Google Docs Dark Mode<\/h2>\"How

    It\u2019s super easy to obtain this extension. You can pick Google Docs Dark Mode up for free from our list of the top 10 dark mode extensions for Chrome<\/a>. All you need to do is follow the Google Docs Dark Mode link<\/a>, and you\u2019ll be taken to the download page. <\/span><\/p>\n

    Now, you need to click Add to Chrome<\/strong>. If you use any other Chromium-based browser, you\u2019ll see its name displayed there instead. You\u2019ll notice that the extension downloads and installs itself to your browser of choice; there\u2019s not much user input required here. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/li>

  2. Open Google Docs Dark Mode<\/h2>\"How

    Your next port of call will be your browser\u2019s toolbar. This is where the address bar is located, and also where you\u2019ll find the icon<\/strong> that looks like a puzzle piece which holds all of your extensions. You might not have any extension installed other than Google Docs Dark Mode, but this is where you\u2019ll see every extension that you add to your browser. <\/span><\/p>\n

    Click where you see Google Docs Dark Mode, and the extension will open. Immediately you\u2019ll see a small pop-up<\/strong> in the top right-hand side of your browser screen with two switches. The top toggle controls whether Google Docs Dark Mode is active or not; the bottom is supposed to control whether the dark mode applies to the actual page or not. <\/span><\/p>\n

    This feature seems to be broken, but as you can see in the screenshot, the borders of the page<\/strong> are at least dark. Pages don\u2019t open in dark mode; it takes a few seconds for Dark Mode to activate, so you\u2019ll still be blinded at first. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><\/ol><\/div>
