You\u2019ve probably used bots in other places before, though, even if you haven\u2019t knowingly come across one on Discord. Any time a website opens up a helpful chat window<\/strong> that gives you all sorts of information or instantly answers FAQs, you\u2019re likely dealing with a bot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Depending on the purpose a bot was designed to fulfill, bots can either be incredibly helpful or infuriating. How to Install a Discord Bot on your account<\/h2>\n\n\n

  1. Enable administrator access on your Discord account<\/h2>\"install

    You need to be an administrator of a server to be able to add bots into the server ecosystem. In most cases, it\u2019s likely your own server to which you\u2019d like to add bots. In the event that you don\u2019t own the server in question, you\u2019ll want to<\/span> get in touch with the server\u2019s owner<\/b> before trying to make any changes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    – First, you\u2019ll want to navigate to the server you\u2019d like to spruce up with a bot or two. From your home page on Discord, head to the<\/span> left-hand side panel <\/b>and click on the server\u2019s name.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    – Now that you\u2019ve selected a server, hit the small arrow next to the server\u2019s name to access a <\/span>drop-down<\/b> options menu.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Depending on the bot you decide to add to your chosen Discord server, you\u2019ll either see \u2018<\/span>Add Bots<\/b>\u2019 or \u2018<\/span>Invite<\/b>\u2019 on the bot\u2019s website. Just a reminder: This doesn\u2019t add bots to every server you operate; You\u2019ll have to follow these steps for all the bots you want to add and all the servers you own or administrate.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    – Your first stop is the website of whichever bot you\u2019d like to add to your chosen discord server. You\u2019ll likely be required to log into Discord from the bot\u2019s website to access the option to add it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    – Once you\u2019ve logged into Discord, you\u2019ll need to select the server to which you\u2019d like to add the chosen bot. When you\u2019ve done this, click <\/span>Continue<\/b>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    – You\u2019ll see a list of options and tick-boxes that basically let you decide what you\u2019d like the specified bot to be able to do once on the server. You can check boxes that apply.<\/span><\/p>\n
