The unveiling and response to Microsoft’s Windows 8<\/a> was impressive.\u00a0 Displaying a radically different and user friendly interface, Windows 8<\/a> contains two versions of the upcoming Internet Explorer 10<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

The focus on a unified visual experience<\/strong> that parallels on both computers and tablets, Windows 8<\/a> takes its cues from Windows Phone 7.<\/p>\n

The big news is that the two versions of Internet Explorer 10<\/a><\/strong> (IE10) contain the same core functionality, but IE10 Metro contains one large difference – a lack of browser plug-ins in favor of HTML5. Not to say that IE10 has done away with Adobe Flash<\/a> and other plug-ins<\/a>, as the legacy version of IE10 will continue to support browser plug-ins.<\/p>\n

In IE10 Metro<\/strong>, the browser is built with HTML5<\/a><\/strong> in mind. IE10 Metro is directed towards both mobile devices increasing functionality with lower power consumption<\/strong> – a known issue with Flash and a whole new browsing experience in Windows 8. It should also be noticed that Microsoft’s own Silverlight<\/a> would not be supported in IE10 Metro.<\/p>\n

The reasoning behind the lack of support in the browser was said to be for extending battery life<\/strong> for mobile devices and improving security<\/strong> for systems overall.<\/p>\n

Metro IE10 is a different way to experience internet browsing and could be the first big step for Microsoft in moving past their stagnant user interface inside old Windows OS to Windows 8.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
