Moving from the closed testing to an <strong>open beta environment<\/strong>, the influx of new sign-ups should add a lot of new content.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-19943\" title=\"google open\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/sft\/articles\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2011\/09\/google.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"294\" srcset=\"https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2011\/09\/google.jpg 600w, https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2011\/09\/google-300x147.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>One of the biggest additions is <strong>search<\/strong>.  Now users can look for others and posts by using the top search bar and also apply filters.<\/p>\n<p>Google+ also released new features to Hangouts in Google+.  The multi-user video chat was updated on the <a href=\"http:\/\/google_plus.en.softonic.com\/android\">Android version of Google+<\/a> with an <a href=\"http:\/\/google.en.softonic.com\/iphone\">iOS update<\/a> in the near future.<\/p>\n<p>Hangouts also received these updates with the open beta of Google+:<\/p>\n<ol> <strong>Public broadcasts<\/strong>: giving traffic-generating users the ability to stream live with up to nine others with public viewing for other users<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sketchpad<\/strong>: communal art<\/p>\n<p><strong>Screensharing<\/strong>: let other users view your screen<\/p>\n<p><strong>Google Docs<\/strong>: allowing multiple users to work within documents<\/p>\n<p><strong>Named Hangouts<\/strong>: create and join other users in certain topics<\/ol>\n<p>These features are still <strong>works-in-progress<\/strong> so perfect functioning should not be expected.  The new additions to the Google+ service and the open beta will allow Google to test this new environment pretty well.
