Origin has been around for more than 10 years. In that time, millions of players have used the app to gain access to their favorite games. Origin has been so widely used that it\u2019s become an almost inseparable gateway to EA\u2019s biggest titles<\/strong>. The age of Origin, however, is nearing its end as the powerhouse developer has now elected to replace the aging gateway with a new offering; the EA App<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n

EA is committed to making gaming as streamlined and intuitive as possible. In a recent statement<\/a>, the developer provided a rationale for the exciting new change. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018We set out to build EA\u2019s next-generation PC game platform – a faster, more reliable, and more streamlined gaming experience – the best possible place<\/strong> for you to experience EA\u2019s incredible games, services, and content.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The developer asserts that the new app is even easier to use, and you\u2019ll quickly be able to find your favorite games and content. You\u2019ll also have access to automatic background updates<\/strong> and game downloads to \u2018ensure that your games are ready to play when you are.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The replacement is not yet in effect across all devices; you will still be able to access your favorite titles on Origin. EA has also said that it shouldn\u2019t be a hassle transitioning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018For our Origin players, we\u2019ve worked hard to make the transition to the EA app as simple as possible. We will be inviting you to make the move soon, and by the time you receive your invite, all your games and content, including games previously installed, will be ready and waiting for you on the EA app. Your local and cloud saves will transfer<\/strong> forward ensuring you can pick up where you left off. Your friends list transfers, too, so you won\u2019t have to worry about remembering all those player IDs.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
