Now part of the Twitter Blue membership, you can also have a badge if you verify your identity. You can ignore those, though, as the company has an easy way for you to <strong>receive the badge<\/strong> if you have <strong>Twitter Blue<\/strong>. All you need to do is verify that you say who you are with your ID or organizational identification.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, there\u2019s a catch. As per the Twitter <a href=\"https:\/\/help.twitter.com\/en\/managing-your-account\/about-twitter-verified-accounts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">support page<\/a>, you\u2019ll have one of <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tomwarren\/status\/1590418790759956483\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">two badges<\/a>. The one is the <strong>Legacy Twitter verification<\/strong>, based on the old system. If you are recognized in the papers, online, or in government as an important person, you\u2019ll still have that tick. It will identify if you are verified based on the Legacy method or the new process. Basically, everyone will know whether or not you paid for your Twitter status. No one mentioned you in online articles or mentioned your importance? That\u2019s ok, you can just pay for it. You won\u2019t be royalty, but you\u2019ll look like one. For many of us, it\u2019s working. I personally didn\u2019t care about upgrading my free account to a paid one before. However, I\u2019ve waited years for the platform to acknowledge that <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ShaunMJooste\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">my profile<\/a> is for a published author and Softonic journalist. I sent my ID and proof of who I am, but it was denied for several years, as I was not \u201cfamous\u201d or of importance. Now, hopefully I can prove on Twitter that I am who I say I am, even if I have to bribe them with a subscription.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ever since <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.en.softonic.com\/articles\/elon-musks-twitter-deal-owner\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Musk completed the controversial Twitter deal<\/a>, it\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.en.softonic.com\/articles\/elon-musks-to-ruffle-twitter-feathers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ruffled quite a bit of feathers<\/a>, causing many to <a href=\"https:\/\/mastodon.en.softonic.com\/articles\/mastodon-1-million-monthly-active-users\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">migrate to platforms like Mastadon<\/a>.
