Do you<strong> piggyback off<\/strong> of someone else\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/netflix.en.softonic.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Netflix <\/a>account, possibly even without the main account holder\u2019s knowledge? Well, Netflix is <a href=\"https:\/\/netflix.en.softonic.com\/articles\/netflix-monetizing-account-sharing-2023\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">implementing measures<\/a> to make it easier to <strong>kick freeloaders<\/strong> off of accounts without having to reset passwords or credentials.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new feature is called \u2018Manage Access and Devices,\u2019 and it lets users control who is using their account. Users can then also simply <strong>remove parasites<\/strong> from their account without having to endure the usual admin. Essentially, this feature is primarily aimed at trying to turn parasites and freeloaders into paying customers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You see, <a href=\"https:\/\/netflix.en.softonic.com\/articles\/netflix-shares-plummet-after-catastrophic-forecast\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Netflix\u2019s stocks are falling<\/a>, and the service is <strong>losing subscribers<\/strong> at an alarming rate. In January this year, we reported on the drastic plummet in Netflix share prices. And, only a few months later in July, Netflix tried to rectify the falling stock prices by charging <a href=\"https:\/\/netflix.en.softonic.com\/articles\/netflix-charging-users-to-share-passwords\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">select users for sharing their passwords<\/a>. Netflix detailed how the feature would monetize password sharing even further during its last investor earnings call. Essentially, the new feature will<strong> charge users <\/strong>an additional fee for sharing passwords outside of their immediate household. The feature has already been tested in Costa Rica, Chile, and Peru, and seems to have been a relative success.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Netflix brass claims that it\u2019s not just <strong>targeting intentional freeloaders<\/strong>, though. In a recent blog post, Charles Wartemburg, product manager for product innovation, said: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018With the busy holiday season just around the corner, many of our members will be on the move and watching Netflix wherever they are traveling to see family and friends. Logging in to your account while at a <strong>hotel or even your friend\u2019s house <\/strong>is easy and intuitive, but lots of people then forget to log out.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What\u2019s been made very clear, though, is that it doesn\u2019t matter what the reason is; if you are watching Netflix on someone else\u2019s account, Netflix would like you to kindly stop. More than asking, the company is <a href=\"https:\/\/netflix.en.softonic.com\/articles\/netflix-adds-profile-transfer-feature\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">actively working<\/a> on a <strong>multi-pronged plan<\/strong> to stop people from sharing their credentials. Goodbye freebie Netflix. You\u2019ve had a good run.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s just hope they sort out the <a href=\"https:\/\/netflix.en.softonic.com\/articles\/netflix-basic-ads-wont-work-chromecast\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Chromecast issues where the Netflix free plan with ads won\u2019t work<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Are you a freeloader?
