This latest <strong>departure of employees<\/strong> leaves many departments in the company without staff and is leaving people wondering how the company can recover. There&#8217;s also so <a href=\"https:\/\/mastodon.en.softonic.com\/articles\/mastodon-1-million-monthly-active-users\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" title=\"many Tweeters moving to Mastodon\">many Tweeters moving to Mastodon<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Just two weeks ago, Musk, the new CEO of Twitter, purged the company by <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.en.softonic.com\/articles\/elon-musks-to-ruffle-twitter-feathers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">laying off 7500 employees<\/a>, including a couple of <strong>critical engineers<\/strong>. However, things didn\u2019t stop there as the layoffs continued, with Musk kicking out anyone who dared criticize his <strong>new hardcore cultural reset<\/strong>. After these big layoffs, the company only <strong>had about 2900 employees remaining<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.softonic.com\/articles\/meta-is-on-a-firing-spree\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">latest layoffs<\/a>, Musk sent a form to all remaining employees with a deadline of 5 pm Wednesday. In this form, employees had to indicate if they\u2019ll be staying on and following the new cultural reset, including the hardcore expectations of longer working hours at a higher intensity. Quite possibly, as soon as this ultimatum was set, hundreds of employees <strong>flooded Twitter\u2019s slack with farewell messages<\/strong> and emojis.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both remaining and resigning employees at Twitter opened up to The Verge and stated that they\u2019re certain that <strong>the platform will <a href=\"https:\/\/instagram.en.softonic.com\/articles\/twitter-instagram-accounts-for-sale\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" title=\"start breaking down\">start breaking down<\/a> soon<\/strong> following the sheer amount of departures. Multiple <strong>critical teams inside Twitter have either completely resigned<\/strong> or almost completely resigned. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These include the traffic and front-end teams that are vital for routing engineering requests to the correct back-end services. Twitter has already reached out to other engineering staffers to fill critical roles, but is it too little, too late?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Musk Tweeted on Thursday, saying that the best people were staying and <strong>he wasn\u2019t worried<\/strong>. However, it does make you wonder how the few remaining members will cope with managing all these different roles and teams that have left. He wasn\u2019t joking when he said staff would have to put in longer hours at higher intensities, as now there\u2019ll be no other option. Is this all <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.en.softonic.com\/articles\/twitter-reform-need-to-know\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">part of Musk\u2019s plan<\/a>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Amidst all this staffing chaos is <strong>also a lawsuit<\/strong> that has been filed against Twitter. This lawsuit is from an ex-Twitter employee, Dmitry Borodaenko, a <strong>disabled employee who was fired<\/strong> for not returning to the office after Musk\u2019s hardcore demands that required employees to work higher hours at the office. Having a disability meant that Mr. Borodaenko worked remotely. In his claim, Mr. Borodaenko says that Musk\u2019s call for all employees to return to the office or quit <strong>goes against the federal Americans with Disabilities Act<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Is this the start of the end for Twitter and the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.softonic.com\/articles\/mastodon-alternative-to-twitter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" title=\"start of an era for Mastodon\">start of an era for Mastodon<\/a>? Or will <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.en.softonic.com\/articles\/elon-musks-twitter-deal-owner\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" title=\"Musk\u2019s extreme management\">Musk\u2019s extreme management<\/a> style actually reap the rewards in the future?
