According to the data obtained, 74% of London citizens under the age of 25 opt for orchestral music. In contrast, only 46% of people over the age of 55 would tune in to that style of music. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These figures reflect the rise of classical music in general, and especially among the new generations. There is a long list of reasons for this, although one of the most important is streaming platforms like Spotify<\/a>. Thanks to them, listeners can discover new artists and musical genres that are more diverse and that adapt to their mood. The success of fictional series such as Squid Game<\/strong> have also greatly helped to popularize classical music and other alternative genres in general. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perhaps the highlight of all of this, though, is the new avenues Gen Z has found to get noticed. The youngest have known how to modernize what for a long time has been considered an elitist and snobbish genre, only within the reach of “privileged minds”. In addition, it is important to mention that social networks have played an essential role during this process<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You just have to take a tour of TikTok<\/a> and look for the hashtag “classictok<\/strong>” (currently has 555 million views). Just like on Instagram<\/a>, thousands of young classical artists have taken advantage of the potential of social networks to make themselves known to the world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the examples of the successful pairing of classical music and social networks is the French violinist Esther Abrami<\/a>. It has a whopping more than half a million followers<\/strong>, divided between Instagram<\/a> (253.000) and TikTok (380.000). Esther Abrami is honored to be the first classical music artist to be nominated in the Social Media Superstar category at the Global Awards<\/strong>. According to his testimony, his greatest wish was “share your passion with the world”, something that has been able to more than fulfill. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This curious intersection of classical music in pop culture highlights the growing interest in the genre, something unthinkable for many. Classical artists such as Pavarotti<\/strong> or Maria Callas<\/strong> are also benefiting from this movement and their listeners are multiplying among people of all ages.
