Only Murders in the Building, the series starring the most curious triad in Hollywood (Steve Martin, Selena G\u00f3mez and Martin Short), has just added a new star to its formula: Meryl Streep<\/strong>. The actress with the most nominations in the history of the Oscars<\/a> has surprisingly joined the Hulu<\/a> fiction (which in Spain can be seen on Disney +<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n

The news has come from Selena Gomez, the biggest promoter of the series in younger audiences<\/strong>. G\u00f3mez has made an Instagram publication where he is presenting the cast of Season 3 of the series, among which is also Paul Rudd (Ant-Man, who is about to release Quantumania). Finally, Meryl Streep appears in the video, implying that she is part of the series. Steve Martin has also uploaded a photo of all together to his profile<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Only Murders in the Building received 17 Emmy Award nominations<\/strong> after its first season, winning three of them. It is the most popular original comedy on Hulu, and has achieved success with both critics and audiences around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Streep’s role will be her first on television since she was the antagonist of Season 2 of Big Littles Lies<\/strong>, which can be seen on HBO Max<\/a>. But what role will he play in this second season<\/strong>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For now and knowing the series, I imagine two options. The first one is that it will be a guest star<\/strong>, like Tina Fey<\/strong> or Amy Schumer<\/strong>. This seems quite likely given the trajectory of the series, but it would be a bit discouraging because we all expect her to have a more significant role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The other option is much more interesting, and that is that Meryl Streep becomes the antagonist of the new season<\/strong>. Although the villains usually appear in a final plot twist, having the best actress in Hollywood as the rival to face would undoubtedly be a leap in quality in a series that already seems fantastic in itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
