Netflix<\/a>‘s algorithm is certainly something worth exploring. Day by day, the platform releases more and more series and movies<\/a>, and the breakneck speed of the releases makes many go unnoticed<\/strong>. However, if we search a little among the latest titles released by the platform, we will quickly realize that there are many hidden gems worth highlighting.<\/p>\n\n\n

The latest case in which this has happened has been with Agencia Lockwood<\/a> (Lockwood & Co). Currently, the series is in the Top 3 of the most popular in the streaming service in Spain<\/strong>, and internationally it has also generated a large audience. However, it has had very few actions at the promotional level, and to realize this you just have to take a look at Netflix’s social networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While fictions such as The Snow Girl, the upcoming live action of One Piece<\/a>, Sky High, You<\/a> or Shadow and Bone have a lot of presence in their publications, we have to search a lot more to find something about Lockwood<\/strong>. This causes that it has been released in a somewhat covered way, and as it has a complete release (that is, all the episodes come out at the same time) it also does not have a continuity as it does with The Last of Us<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The series, however, has garnered great reviews<\/strong>. On Rotten Tomatoes<\/a> it has 89% favorable reviews and 94% of the public. Thus, it outperforms other major premieres on the platform such as Wednesday or even You.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is, therefore, a great surprise for Netflix<\/strong>, which perhaps did not expect it to do so well. Of course, the fact that it has good reviews does not mean anything. Netflix is only driven by audience numbers and, as it keeps proving time and time again, it does not hesitate to cancel any series, no matter how good it is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is Lockwood Agency about?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Lockwood Agency is about three teenagers who create a supernatural agency to fight ghosts, since their world is full of them and they are a great plague to beat. The teens drop everything to fight them, like a modern day Ghostbusters<\/a><\/strong> but with a lot more darkness than the Bill Murray movies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is a teen series<\/strong> (like the vast majority of Netflix, on the other hand) but it has a very good bill, some performers at the height and a surprisingly good script. In addition, it is based on the books by Jonathan Stroud, a great success among young audiences. It is one of the few great supernatural offerings on the platform, so let’s hope it keeps going for a long time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
