As expected, the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.softonic.com\/articles\/super-bowl-xbox-game-pass-madden-nfl-23\" title=\"National Football League (NFL)\">National Football League (NFL)<\/a> final has been as spectacular as expected: with an <a href=\"https:\/\/en.softonic.com\/articles\/rihanna-conquer-super-bowl\" title=\"incredible halftime show starring Rihanna\">incredible halftime show starring Rihanna<\/a> and dozens of highly anticipated commercials aired.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Such is the relevance of the Super Bowl that it has caused the chapter of The Last of Us to be brought forward and has led to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.softonic.com\/articles\/rihanna-super-bowl-2023-list-songs\" title=\"Rihanna's return to the stage\">Rihanna&#8217;s return to the stage<\/a><\/strong>, pregnant and after many years without releasing new music. <strong>But how has this success translated into audience figures?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media.pitchfork.com\/photos\/63e99542fef3c7783b310652\/2:1\/w_2560%2Cc_limit\/rihanna-super-bowl.jpg\" alt=\"Watch Rihanna's Super Bowl 2023 Halftime Show Performance | Pitchfork\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Super Bowl viewership in recent years<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Normally, the official global viewership data is released a couple of days after the game takes place. However, before the start of the Super Bowl, Fox was already arguing that they could achieve something unusual by setting <strong>the record for <a href=\"https:\/\/en.softonic.com\/articles\/super-bowl-hour-game-intermediate-show\" title=\"the most-watched Super Bowl of all time\">the most-watched Super Bowl of all time<\/a><\/strong>. In the last decade, the audience figures were as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>2022: Rams vs. Bengals\u2014<strong>99.18M<\/strong><\/li><li>2021: Bucs vs. Chiefs\u2014<strong>91.63M<\/strong><\/li><li>2020: Chiefs vs. 49ers\u2014<strong>100.45M<\/strong><\/li><li>2019: Patriots vs. Rams\u2014<strong>98.19M<\/strong><\/li><li>2018: Eagles vs. Patriots\u2014<strong>103.39M<\/strong><\/li><li>2017: Patriots vs. Falcons\u2014<strong>111.32M<\/strong><\/li><li>2016: Broncos vs. Panthers\u2014<strong>111.86M<\/strong><\/li><li>2015: Patriots vs. Seahawks\u2014<strong>114.44M<\/strong><\/li><li>2014: Seahawks vs. Broncos\u2014<strong>112.19M<\/strong><\/li><li>2013: Ravens vs. 49ers\u2014<strong>108.69M<\/strong><\/li><li>2012: Giants vs. Patriots\u2014<strong>111.35M<\/strong><\/li><li>2011: Packers vs. Steelers\u2014<strong>111.01M<\/strong><\/li><li>2010: Saints vs. Colts\u2014<strong>106.48M<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Achieving a record, especially considering the slight decline in viewership over the past five years, seems crazy. <strong>It was 2015 when the record was achieved<\/strong>, with a <a href=\"https:\/\/en.softonic.com\/articles\/super-bowl-10-greatest-shows-history-2\" title=\"halftime\">halftime<\/a> show starring Bruno Mars. But Michael Mulvihill, FOX&#8217;s head of strategy and analytics, said before the game that the network was looking for 115 million, a new record. And they might have gotten it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Beyond the direct audience, the data from the previous edition collected by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adglow.com\/es-blog\/super-bowl-190-millones-de-espectadores-en-televisi%C3%B3n#:~:text=Super%20Bowl%3A%20190%20millones%20de,de%20interacciones%20en%20redes%20sociales\" title=\"Adglow\">Adglow<\/a> are very significant: on Facebook there were <strong>more than 240 million interactions<\/strong> during the night of the event through more than 64 million users. On Instagram, up to <strong>150 million interactions<\/strong> were reached by 44 million users. And on Twitter, <strong>27 million tweets<\/strong> about the event were recorded. In the minute after the halftime show alone, 162,000 tweets were written, 5,400 per second.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.vox-cdn.com\/thumbor\/vmjI05YU66ABiDXXCDTFrxdLsqU=\/0x0:1883x1069\/1200x800\/filters:focal(792x385:1092x685)\/cdn.vox-cdn.com\/uploads\/chorus_image\/image\/71969504\/popcornersad.0.jpg\" alt=\"The best Super Bowl commercials of 2023 - Polygon\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Other very interesting data about the previous year was the increase in mobile devices (more than 90% of interactions came from here) and the rise of videos, reaching <strong>262 million reproductions<\/strong>. Therefore, for this year we expect a movement of up to <strong>418 million dollars in advertising<\/strong>, and even <a href=\"https:\/\/en.softonic.com\/articles\/ads-super-bowl-2023\" title=\"surpass the previous year in interactions\">surpass the previous year in interactions<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We still have to wait a bit to have the official data, but if we take into account that the previous year was &#8220;weak&#8221; compared to others, and that this show was more eagerly awaited than any other in recent years, it is more than likely that <strong>a new record has been achieved<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FOX is seeking a Superbowl viewership record this year.
