Nokia<\/strong> presented its new phones<\/a> yesterday Monday at the Mobile World Congress<\/a>, among which we find a fully repairable<\/strong> one. It is one of the first smartphones designed so that you can fix it yourself from home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The engineering and design work on these handsets has been done in collaboration with iFixit<\/a>, a popular company focused on providing repair guides, parts and tools. Nokia’s parent company, HMD Global<\/strong>, believes this move will encourage people to keep their devices with them for longer, something it emphasized at MWC<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It’s important because people are claiming they want to keep their phones for longer. According to the data we have, people are keeping their phones between 3, 4 and 4.5 years today<\/strong>,” explains Adam Ferguson, HMD Global’s head of product marketing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“In order to do that, you need to replace parts that are bad, such as a cracked screen [\u2026] or maybe you want to upgrade your battery because its performance has started to decline. So we want to make it as easy as possible for users.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Features of Nokia repairable cell phones<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This Nokia model is called G22<\/strong> and is part of the 3 terminals that the company has presented, the C22, the C32 and the G22<\/strong>. The latter is designed to have a long service life thanks to its repair possibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting with the Nokia C22<\/strong>, it presents itself as a fairly steady model in hand, with a 2.5D display and hardened glass. It also incorporates protection against splashes and dust, as well as a rigid metal chassis inside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If we take a closer look at the Nokia C22<\/strong>, we see that it has a screen with HD+ resolution of 1,600 x 900 pixels, accompanied by the Unisoc 9863A1 chip and a choice of 2 or 3 GB of RAM. As for internal memory, the device has 64 GB expandable via microSD card (supports up to 256 GB). One of its strongest points is the 5,000 mAH battery with fast charging that will give you several days of autonomy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The C22<\/strong> is equipped with a two-lens camera, the main one with a 13-megapixel sensor and the macro one with a 2-megapixel sensor. On the front, the camera dedicated to selfies has 8 megapixels. The modest features of the Nokia C22 will appeal to those who need a simple and uncomplicated cell phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the other hand, there is the Nokia C32<\/strong>, which has a more premium<\/strong> design. It shares most of the features with the C22, such as the processor, the screen, the battery and its front camera. The most notable differences are found in the RAM (we can choose between 3 and 4GB) and the camera, as this one has a 50 megapixel main sensor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally we have the outstanding Nokia G22<\/strong>, which mounts an LCD screen with HD+ resolution of 6.5 inches and refresh rate of 90 hertz. It has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and 5G connectivity. In terms of processor, we find the Unisoc T606 chip with 4 Gb of RAM and a choice between 64 and 128 GB of internal storage. Like the other models, we can expand the memory via microSD cards up to 2 TB. Behind the camera we find the camera with three lenses: a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 2-megapixel macro sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most striking aspect of the Nokia G22 is its easy repair<\/strong> (in fact, it has its own guide<\/strong> to do so). Elements such as the screen or the battery can be replaced easily and without the need for external repair services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
