On the one hand, WhatsApp on tablets will finally have an interface according to the size of the device; on the other hand, the app will allow us to automatically mute calls from people who are not registered in the phonebook.

First of all, as can be seen in the screenshots provided by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp would have changed the interface on tablets for a new split view aspect. And if it rings a bell, it’s because said look is practically the same (if not directly the same) as the one used by the desktop version of WhatsApp.

With this horizontal layout, the contacts would be located in the left half of the screen, while the currently active chats would be on the right half of the screen. In this way, the two could be handled separately with complete freedom.

Finally, a function that will be very well received by users will be Silence calls from strangers. This utility, as its name suggests, will allow us to automatically mute calls from people who are not registered in our contact list. After the call, its record will appear in the call history and in the notifications, so that the user can review it.

Although until now it was possible to mute all calls received on WhatsApp, this new feature will allow us to mute only those coming from people we do not know (or do not have registered), thus hindering certain types of scams carried out on WhatsApp.

At the moment, both features are part of WhatsApp betas, so it is unknown when they will finally reach the stable versions, as well as if they will end up doing so (some test features are not finally released or are released with changes).

WhatsApp launches two features for its latest beta: one that adds a horizontal interface to tablets and another that allows you to silence calls from strangers.

[1015
["post-215133","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news
["GET
