Between the cancellations of hit series<\/a>, the decline in quality of some of its fiction and the new account sharing policies, the streaming platform is not getting off the ground. Tim Burton’s fiction became the most watched on the platform last year<\/strong>, even above Stranger Things<\/a>, and was soon renewed for a new season. However, not all that glitters is gold, and lead actress Jenna Ortega has explained in a podcast<\/a> how hard she had a hard time on the set.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A nonsense character<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Jenna Ortega has spoken out, at length, against the script of the series: “The things that she [Wednesday] does, what I had to interpret, did not make sense or fit with the character<\/strong>. The love triangle doesn’t make any sense. There was a line about a dress she was going to wear to the ball, when she says, ‘Oh, my God, I love it,’ that I can’t believe she said. I literally hate myself for it<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But this is not the only thing she has complained about. The actress has also said that, in many scenes, she had to improvise to “not say verbatim” what her character said in the script<\/strong>, as it was not believable. And she even had to change a scene completely. The moment of the dance, as she explains, was going to be very different:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Supposedly, it was going to be a flashmob and everyone was going to start dancing with her<\/strong>. But I stood up to this idea because I thought, would she really like it?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
