If changing the Spotify<\/strong> Like button<\/a> to a “plus” symbol seemed “radical” to you, just wait, there are curves ahead. At its Stream On<\/a><\/strong> event this week, Spotify unveiled a complete redesign of its app, which will feature a new login screen<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a design that bets more on visual content and vertical scrolling<\/strong>, Spotify’s new feeds are very similar to TikTok<\/strong>‘s style; a trend that is also being followed by other apps, such as Reddit<\/a><\/strong> or one of Spotify’s biggest rivals: SoundCloud<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n

According to The Verge<\/a><\/strong>, Spotify’s new design, which aims to help users discover more content<\/strong> and in a much more convenient way, will show on its new home screen the classic album covers and playlists, although it will also recommend podcasts (which will be played automatically, as in the Twitch<\/strong> cover) or playlists that we might like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will be able to access a vertical scrolling feed by clicking on “Music” at the top of the main menu. Once we enter, the songs will show us an excerpt of how they sound<\/strong>, so that we can click on it and listen to it in its entirety or save it to listen to it later by clicking on the “more” button<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Podcasts and Shows,” its podcast section, will also have a vertically scrolling feed. In this section, users will be able to listen to audio fragments of podcast episodes<\/strong> of a maximum duration of 60 seconds, which will also include real-time transcripts of what is happening.
