To make matters worse, the possible impact would be on <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.softonic.com\/articles\/gta-online-valentines-day\">Valentine&#8217;s Day.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Discovered last February 26, <strong>this asteroid of almost 50 meters in diameter<\/strong> follows a trajectory that implies a risk of collision with the Earth. As NASA&#8217;s own <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.softonic.com\/articles\/cuts-twitter-you-cannot-access-social-network-deep-web\">Twitter<\/a><\/strong> account explains, &#8220;when new objects are discovered, several weeks of study are needed to <strong>reduce uncertainty and predict their orbit in the future. <\/strong>Analysts will continue to monitor asteroid 2023 DW and update their predictions as more data becomes available.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">We&#39;ve been tracking a new asteroid named 2023 DW that has a very small chance of impacting Earth in 2046. Specifically, the distance between the two celestial bodies would be 1.8 million kilometers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the other hand, the<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/en.softonic.com\/articles\/asteroid-help-us-prevent-impact-other-asteroids-green-comet\">asteroid<\/a><\/strong> was discovered by the MAP San Pedro de Atacama Observatory and its diameter is approximately 49 meters. It currently has an orbital period of 271 days and circulates at a speed relative to the sun of 24.63 kilometers per second. The<a href=\"https:\/\/en.softonic.com\/articles\/comet-green-what-a-difference-comet-asteroid-meteorite-2023\"> <strong>space rock<\/strong><\/a> is the only object on NASA&#8217;s risk list to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cneos.jpl.nasa.gov\/sentry\/\">score 1 out of 10 on the Turin scale.<\/a> <\/strong>To put it in context, all other objects and bodies identified by the <strong>organization rank 0<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, there is no need (yet) to throw our hands up in the air. Rank 1 on the Turin scale indicates that <strong>&#8220;objects have some danger of collision&#8221;<\/strong> but that <strong>&#8220;the probability is extremely low&#8221;<\/strong>.
