In this tutorial we are going to start from the fact that we have already downloaded the certificate<\/strong>. Just briefly remember that the certificate is ordered online and then, in most cases, we have to go to a social security office to verify our identity. The whole process is extremely simple on the iPhone or iPad. Once we have the identity certificate in the Files app<\/strong>, the exact steps to follow are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. We open the Files<\/em> app, look for the certificate in question and tap on it to open it.<\/li>
  2. If we are asked where to install it, we choose iPhone or iPad<\/em> depending on where we are doing the process.<\/li>
  3. The system notifies us of a downloaded Profile<\/em>, tap Close<\/em>.<\/li>
  4. We open the Settings<\/em> app on our iPhone or iPad.<\/li>
  5. At the top, under our name, tap on Downloaded Profile<\/em>.<\/li>
  6. Tap Install<\/em>.<\/li>
  7. We enter the password of our iPhone or iPad.<\/li>
  8. When a warning appears stating that The profile is not signed<\/em>, simply tap on Install and confirm<\/em> again by tapping on Install.<\/li>

    That’s it. From now on we can find the certificate within the Settings app, by going to General and then tapping on VPN and device management<\/em>.     How to install the identity certificate on Mac<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    On our Mac the steps are even simpler. The management will be done through the Keychain Access app<\/em><\/strong>, all we have to do is follow these steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. We open the Keychain Access<\/em> app, we can find it using Spotlight -pressing Command (\u2318) + Spacebar- or inside the Utilities<\/em> folder inside Applications<\/em>.<\/li>
    2. In the Keychain Access<\/em> sidebar we select Login Keychain<\/em>.<\/li>
    3. Drag the certificate, the file with .pfx extension, to the right side of the window.<\/li>
    4. Enter the certificate password.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
