Today’s smartphones come more equipped than ever, but the truth is that we hardly use any of their features<\/a>. Sometimes we forget that our phones<\/a> are built around one primary function: voice calls. Apple<\/a> wanted to improve that aspect with the new iOS 16.4<\/a>, thanks to its new Voice Isolation<\/strong> feature.<\/p>\n\n\n

This feature, which is currently available in beta, has the potential to significantly improve the quality of mobile calls. This is possible by blocking out ambient noise and prioritizing your voice, which will make it sound much clearer and crisper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, this feature was already present on iPhones, but only on VoIP calls made through Facetime<\/a> and other apps like WhatsApp<\/a>, Telegram<\/a> and so on. Thanks to iOS 16.4<\/a>, you will be able to enable Voice Isolation on any normal call.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The feature will be of great help especially if you tend to find yourself in the middle of very noisy environments or for those with hearing problems. however, the activation process can be a bit convoluted.<\/p>\n\n\n

When you are in the middle of a call<\/a>, you will need to go to the Control Center (this is done by swiping down from the top right of your iPhone<\/a> screen). Once open, you will need to tap on Microphone Mode<\/strong> and select Voice Isolation<\/strong>. There is also a third option called Wide Spectrum<\/strong>, which increases the volume of sounds around you, but this is not available for mobile calls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the moment, Voice Isolation and Wide Spectrum is only available from iPhone XR<\/a> onwards.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
