Stand Up to Cancer is hosting the Great British Bake Off event, which you can watch on Channel 4 every weekend on Sundays. One of the participants had a personal battle with cancer during filming, dealing with chemotherapy and then wearing a stoma bag. Yet, radio personality Adele Roberts says taking part in it is what helped her through the hard times<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was the heartwarming atmosphere with other participants that really made her feel alive. Talking to them really inspired and motivated her<\/strong>, while making the cake also gave her further encouragement. It hasn\u2019t been an easy road, but she was glad to have supportive people around her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As explained in Hello! Magazine<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It gave me something to look forward to. When you’re going through treatment, you need things to keep you motivated and focused on mentally because otherwise you can go to a very dark place. Even practicing kept me motivated and inspired. The whole team and crew also really looked after me. They even made sure I had an ice machine because at the time I was overheating a lot.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The members of the show were allowed to communicate, which meant they often shared ideas<\/strong> or asked for advice. Adele found this comforting, meaning she didn\u2019t need to feel overwhelmed with the challenge while also fighting against cancer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
