This article is full of spoilers about The Mandalorian. If you haven’t seen any of season 3 or episode 5, we recommend you not to read any further.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The third season of The Mandalorian<\/a> has passed its halfway point. The fifth episode, “The Pirate”, is already available on Disney +<\/a> as of today and we are already beginning to glimpse the end of the season<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n

The truth is that many were struggling to see where the third season as a whole was headed. However, it seems it was just a case of being patient: Jon Favreau was playing the long game with The Mandalorian<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During this episode, the series has already begun to conclude certain plots that connect directly to the first episode, “The Apostate.” In this episode, we will see the return of Gorian Shard, aka “Barbaverde.” The villain lands on Greef Karga’s (Carl Weathers) territory and attempts to raze the trading town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response, Karga calls for help from the New Republic on Coruscant, but ends up being ignored. However, the pilots decide to call Din and the rest of the Mandalorians to warn them of what is coming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The episode, directed by Peter Ramsey (also co-director of Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse), brings together everything that has happened so far this season and presents a very clear plan for the remaining episodes. It was obvious that the series would return to Nevarro to face the pirate threat sooner rather than later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At this point, it’s clear that the New Republic narrative comes directly from the Rangers of the New Republic series, which was cancelled. In the past, it was hinted in the past that numerous ideas and concepts would be carried over to The Mandalorian<\/a>, something that at the moment is working very well to augment the Imperial menace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The episode<\/a> has an action-packed final stretch that may well prove a bit short for some. The arrival of Shard is shaping up to be the perfect excuse to bring the Mandalorians back to Nevarro. And the promise of having a new home where there would be no need to hide seduces the entire clan.<\/p>\n\n\n

With this in mind, the Armera tells Bo-Katan that he must carry out a very important mission.However this is not final, as we then see how Carson Teva found an Imperial Lambda-class shuttle that was used to carry New Republic prisoners. As a finale, we discover that this is the same ship that carried Moff Gideon to his trial and that there were Mandalorians involved in his escape. Will we get to know who were the ones who transported him?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
