What is GPT-4? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

GPT-4<\/a><\/strong> is the most current version of GPT (Generative Pre-Trained Transformer<\/em>), a linguistic model that works with Artificial Intelligence and is able to reason and reproduce natural language. On the other hand, ChatGPT is a specific implementation of GPT, designed to be a chatbot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What can GPT-4 do?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

GPT-4 is a “multimodal” model, which means that it accepts both text and image inputs. This means that GPT-4 is able to “scan” an image and generate answers to the questions we ask based on that image. For example: you can give GPT-4 a sheet full of math problems and instruct it to solve them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The intellectual capabilities of GPT-4<\/a> are also vastly improved over GPT-3.5, its predecessor. In a series of tests conducted by both models, GPT-4 was shown to far outperform its predecessor<\/a>. Even so, GPT-4 can also make errors, although at a much lower rate than its predecessor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of today, the free version of ChatGPT still uses GPT-3.5<\/a>, where we can only use text to communicate with it and to make requests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When was GPT-4 launched?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

GPT-4 was unveiled by OpenAI on March 14, 2023, nearly four months after the company launched ChatGPT in late November 2022. OpenAI<\/a> claims it is a much more creative model and offers greater accuracy when solving problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, the only way to access GPT-4 is through a subscription to ChatGPT Plus at the price of $20 per month. However, even with this subscription there is a limit to the number of simultaneous users. This means that you may not be able to access it whenever you want, something you should take into account before making the investment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, there is also another way to use GPT-4: through Bing<\/a>. After OpenAI’s presentation of GPT-4, Microsoft<\/a> confirmed that its chatbot, Bing Chat, had been working with GPT-4 since its launch<\/a>. Bing Chat<\/a> is completely free, but requires signing up for a waiting list<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you don’t know what Bing Chat is, here’s a quick summary: Microsoft updated its Bing search engine with a new chat feature. In this case, it is a conversational model with which we can use natural language to communicate with it. This is very useful for certain Internet searches because instead of just throwing up websites, the chatbot is able to answer your question concretely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the launch of Bing Chat, there were 45 million chats on the platform and the new Bing went on to have 100 million active users. Its popularity is due to the fact that it has the same capabilities as ChatGPT, but with Internet access (something ChatGPT does not have).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
