However, it appears that Samsung<\/a> employees were unaware of this (or deliberately ignored it) as confidential company data has appeared inside ChatGPT<\/strong>. In one of the reported cases, a worker copied and pasted confidential source code inside ChatGPT<\/a> to ask him to “optimize” it. A third also shared a recording of a meeting to transcribe what was discussed and turn it into notes for a presentation. All of this information is now available to ChatGPT<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many privacy experts have already talked about this issue and the lack of control (as we have now seen). Although ChatGPT<\/a> can be very useful for optimizing day-to-day tasks, users should be clear about one thing before using it: private or confidential information should never be shared with the model<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In fact, this is something that OpenAI itself (the company behind ChatGPT<\/a>) has insisted on publicly. However, experts warn that the model may also violate compliance with the GDPR<\/strong> (General Data Protection Regulation), which is why Italy recently banned the use of ChatGPT<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the time being, Samsung has taken action and is already investigating the case to find out who was involved in the leak. As a result, the company has also considered developing its own internal chatbot to prevent such slips.
