Warner Bros Discovery <\/strong>has just released some big news: as of May 23, the HBO Max platform will change its name simply to Max<\/strong> in the United States, a change that will come to Spain next year. The announcement comes with the intention of making a new, more complete catalog on the platform, adding all the new Discovery Plus<\/strong> <\/a>releases.<\/p>\n\n\n

But the announcement has not come alone, it has come along with many other news: a new Harry Potter series<\/a><\/strong> that will serve as a reboot of the movies, a new Game of Thrones prequel entitled The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms<\/a><\/strong>, a Rick and Morty anime, <\/a><\/strong>etc. But there is one new development that has been very prominent and has gone somewhat unnoticed: the production of a new spin-off of The Big Bang Theory<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although Young Sheldon<\/strong>, the prequel to TBBT that tells the origins of the character played by Jim Parsons, is still airing, this new series is added as a new attempt to squeeze the goose that lays the golden eggs. But what do we know about The Big Bang Theory<\/a> spin-off<\/strong>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Will the main characters of The Big Bang Theory return to the spin-off?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We still don’t know too much about the new series of The Big Bang Theory<\/strong>, and therefore there is no confirmed plot. The spin-off is at a very early stage of development, but screenwriter Bill Prady would like to bring back the original characters. However, with a new show that plays with more topical themes, such as “the recent pandemic”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, it does not seem very clear which path they will take. “It’s hard to imagine what you would see after the finale. It was one of the most beautiful and satisfying episodes of the series. The closure it brought was amazing. I couldn’t reopen the story<\/strong>,” Prady explains. So we don’t know in what form these characters will return.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who is behind The Big Bang Theory spin-off?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Those who are confirmed are the people behind the project. On the one hand, showrunner Chuck Lorre will return as executive producer of the series. It will be a Warner Bros. project with Chuck Lorre Prods<\/strong>, and the idea is that it will be as big as the original sitcom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bill Prady<\/strong>, screenwriter and co-creator of the series who, in addition to working on TBBT, has participated in projects such as Star Trek: Voyager<\/strong>, will also be on board. Undoubtedly, considering the care they gave to the original sitcom, it is clear that they will put all their efforts to make this new project as great as expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When will The Big Bang Theory spin-off be released?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There is no release date for the series yet, as they are still in development. But, following Max’s plans, it is expected to premiere in approximately 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n
