The extended reality headset will steal the spotlight<\/strong>, but the conference will also feature new products and software updates. Highlights include new wearables and a major software update to the Apple Watch, the most significant since its debut in 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Software yes, but also a lot of hardware<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

According to Mark Gurman<\/a> in his latest edition of the Power-On newsletter, Apple is planning to present quite a lot of content. Of course we will see iOS 17, iPadOS 17, macOS 14 and watchOS 10, but also the new xrOS operating system<\/strong>, the new extended reality headset that we have already discussed and several new MacBook models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Gurman, although no major new features are expected in the updates of iOS, iPadOS, macOS and tvOS, minor improvements will be included to respond to user demands. One of the changes that the Bloomberg reporter does confirm is that iOS 17 will be adapted to allow the installation of applications from sources outside its official store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for the Apple Watch, while we await a minor hardware update that we will see in the fall alongside the iPhone 15<\/a>, the new watchOS 10 operating system will undergo quite significant improvements, such as a completely revamped interface<\/strong>. Excellent news now that the company’s watch has become a benchmark for the market and even more so if we take into account that its interface has barely changed since its launch in 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moving on to software, most of this year’s WWDC<\/a> will revolve around xrOS, the augmented reality headset operating system. The paradigm shift when it comes to creating apps, or rather, coming up with potential app ideas, will be evident and all week, it will be a stage to showcase how developers can leverage this device, its integrated app store and related development tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jumping to hardware, in addition to the aforementioned extended reality headset, Apple is working on several new Mac models<\/strong> including a 15-inch MacBook Air<\/a>, an updated 13-inch MacBook Air, an entry-level 13-inch MacBook Pro, a refreshed 24-inch iMac and the first Mac Pro with an Apple silicon chip. As far as we know, only the laptops would be unveiled during WWDC 2023, although given the ambitious schedule, we could well be in for a surprise or two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WWDC 2023 is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious editions in Apple’s history<\/strong>, with a focus on innovation in both hardware and software and the search for new opportunities in the technology market. Extended reality will lead the event, but without overshadowing the advances in operating systems and hardware upgrades expected at the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having said all this, it is important to remember that we are talking about rumors. Rumors that, in addition, have to do with a presentation in which Apple can decide, almost until the last moment, to remove part of the video or add some content. In the software field is where it is more difficult for us to make predictions about the news, so we are sure to get more than one surprise.<\/p>\n\n\n
