The Mandalorian Season 3<\/a> finale<\/strong> is about to arrive, and with it will come the resolution of the plot full of ups and downs that Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau have proposed for this batch of episodes. Throughout the season we have seen the Mandalorians scattered throughout the galaxy come together and, in the last episode, we saw how they united to recover their home planet\u2026 but trouble arrived.<\/p>\n\n\n

Once on Mandalore<\/a>, the two groups of Mandalorians joined in an expedition for their planet<\/strong>, but they had two big problems. The first of them was the attack by a monstrous creature that makes it clear that the planet, despite not being intoxicated as they said, is a hostile place. And the second is the worst of all: the return of Moff Gideon<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After confronting him in a second season in which he ended up cloistered, the Imperials who continue to defend their original regime released the villain from The Mandalorian<\/a>. And the third season has resulted in a final fight in which the Mandalorians will have to face him. Chapter 8, therefore, promises to be an unparalleled spectacle in which the battle for Mandalore will take place<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Will Mando die in 3\u00d708?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The worst part has been taken, beyond the poor Paz Viszla who has died sacrificing himself for his own<\/strong>, Din Djarin<\/a>. The protagonist played by Pedro Pascal ended up kidnapped by Moff Gideon in 3\u00d707 of the series<\/a>, so many are wondering what will happen to him. And, above all, the question that is in the air is: will Din Djarin die at the end of the season?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If we follow the structure of this type of series, the logical answer is NO. For several reasons, moreover. The first is that he was given a chance. If he had to die, why kidnap him earlier and not finish him off in a life and death battle?<\/strong> It doesn’t make much sense that they left him alive to finish him off later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another reason is obvious: he is the main character of the series. Although it wouldn’t be the first time that a main protagonist dies in a series, we must remember that The Mandalorian<\/a> is, in fact, an adventure series about a mercenary<\/strong>. And while that’s changed a lot lately, it doesn’t quite add up for me that they’re dispatching him to continue with the fourth and fifth seasons that have already been confirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besides, what they have achieved with Pedro Pascal’s character is unique<\/strong>. Even if it’s Grogu who sells more dolls and Bo-Katan Kryze has risen as a new deuteragonist, it’s so difficult what they’ve done with Mando -an almost faceless character who, at the same time, has a great charisma- that it doesn’t seem logical to dispatch him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The motivation Grogu needs?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

However, there are other reasons why we may fear for his life at the end of this season. And the main one is a statement from Dave Filoni<\/a> to Collider<\/a> about what will happen at the end of Season 3 of the series:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Hopefully, the audience will feel satisfied. They’ll feel full, but they’ll also feel a little surprised<\/strong>. They’ll have a lot to take in, and I think any good finale has that moment where you’re exhilarated and satisfied, but at the same time you remember everything that was going on and you feel kind of empty or a little bit scared.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thus, although Filoni’s words seem to be more about calm than chaos, he could be foreshadowing a big surprise ending that could be, evidently, the death of Mando. If so, the protagonist could turn elsewhere, and we are not talking about Bo-Katan\u2026 but Grogu<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The character formerly nicknamed Baby Yoda<\/a> has had a great evolution over the three seasons. From being a baby with supposedly great potential he has gone on to be a Jedi and now a Mandalorian. Plus, he now has a weapon to play with, and a great trajectory ahead of him<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Should he end Mando’s life, Grogu would have enough motivation to strike out on his own<\/strong> in the following seasons and become the new Mandalorian. However, and although this seems to be very interesting, we must remember that this is not Game of Thrones, and although Pedro Pascal is used to dying on screen -both in the past and in the future\u2026- it doesn’t seem that Disney will take this path\u2026yet.<\/p>\n\n\n
