What happens when you just want to mute existing audio to add your own music?<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s the simple solution:<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Windows Live Movie Maker\u2019s interface is <strong>easy to use<\/strong>, but there isn\u2019t a lot of direction on how to control different elements.\u00a0 Changing the volume or muting the audio in a video is actually easier than I thought.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-22698\" title=\"Windows Live Movie Player Volume\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/sft\/articles\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2012\/02\/Windows-Live-Movie-Player-Volume.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"588\" height=\"357\" srcset=\"https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2012\/02\/Windows-Live-Movie-Player-Volume.jpg 588w, https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2012\/02\/Windows-Live-Movie-Player-Volume-300x182.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 588px) 100vw, 588px\" \/><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>After adding your videos to Windows Live Movie Maker, click on the <strong>Edit<\/strong> tab.\u00a0 On the left there is the <strong>Video Volume<\/strong> option.\u00a0 Clicking on the option will open a small slider where you can adjust the volume to your liking.<\/li>\n<li>If you just want to lower the volume, slide the adjuster accordingly.\u00a0  Muting is accomplished by sliding to the far left which will mute the  volume of the entire clip.<\/li>\n<li>Keep in mind that if you add multiple video files, each file must  individually be adjusted.\u00a0 Check out the video below as an example.\u00a0 It  contains three separate clips using the volume controls in Windows Live Movie Maker. The first clip is muted, the second has unchanged volume, and the third has an entirely new soundtrack.
