Its usefulness is enormous and, for example, we can use them to connect to a Wi-Fi network without having to enter the password or to download an app that we see advertised in a store or restaurant. We simply point the camera at the QR code and that&#8217;s it. Let&#8217;s turn it off, wait about 15 to 20 seconds and turn it back on. Also, let&#8217;s verify that the iPhone is up to date with the latest version of the operating system by going to <em>Settings &gt; General &gt; Software Update<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"How to shoot with Depth Control on iPhone \u2014 Apple\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/dU9q1WKmVbg?list=PLHFlHpPjgk72JW5vfYlzycSgG_Z6EV4hK\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>If the Camera app still does not recognize QR codes, make sure that the scanning feature is enabled in the settings. We will do this in <em>Settings &gt; Camera<\/em>, activating <em>Scan QR codes<\/em>. Let&#8217;s also remember that to scan a QR code, the camera must be in photo mode. Video and portrait modes do not have this function, so let&#8217;s slide right or left to select Photo mode, once we are with the camera app open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Make sure to focus correctly on the QR code. It may be necessary to do some zooming, or avoid reflections on glass or shiny surfaces that hide part of the code from the camera. Also keep in mind that some custom codes only work in specific applications, such as payment or loyalty cards. <strong>Nor can we rule out the possibility that the code is damaged, incomplete or incorrect<\/strong>. Something we can check by trying to scan another code from the same iPhone or the same code from another iPhone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If all else fails, we can try to <strong>access the scanning feature directly from Control Center<\/strong>. First we need to add it, which we do in <em>Settings &gt; Control Center<\/em> by simply tapping the &#8220;+&#8221; symbol next to &#8220;Code Scanner&#8221;. Then, we swipe down from the top right corner of the screen and tap the QR code-shaped button to start scanning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If none of these solutions work and we can&#8217;t scan any QR code &#8211; not just one, but none &#8211; it may be necessary to <strong>reset the iPhone and check if after the reset it works<\/strong>. If it works and then the problem persists after restoring the backup, we will need to set up the iPhone as new.
